Singto's character wasn't gay because he was scared of women...did you watch the show? He was scared of women because his mother, a woman he trusted, cheated on his father with his private tutor, the man he first had a crush on. He was gay before he was scared of women. His mother's actions are what propelled him into being scared of women. He was always gay, and knew that he was gay.
That's something I wonder quite often about. A lot of people on MDL throw around 10s like it's nothing, even if…
I agree. I enjoy a lot of shows. I think you can enjoy a show without it being perfect. There are some shows I have to actively force myself to finish because they're so badly written, and then there are some like Bad Buddy where I think it's enjoyable, but some parts are lacking.
Absolutely in love with your review. You were able to dive deep into your thoughts and actually give great statements…
Thank you! I agree. I'm reading some of the 10s reviews and I'm thinking, "Did we watch the same drama?" A lot of these reviews were even written before the show finished airing which leads me to believe they're just fans who love the two actors. I get it. Ohm and Nanon are attractive and great actors. Some of the scenes that they did in the drama were beautiful. I rewatched some of the scenes multiple times because that's how good I thought they executed them.
I do have to disagree though. I felt that this story was written for women, and that it still followed a lot of typical BL tropes. I was disappointed because of this aspect. We had an LGBTQ+ director, and it still felt like fan service to women.
I don't post but seeing this review now is soo regretable I just finished binging this series cause I saw more…
Oh, that sucks! I might eventually rewatch this drama only because I've been bored lately and started rewatching old dramas to see if my opinions are the same the second time through...
It was okay. I don't think that people's criticism was that it was a sad ending. I think it's more with the fact…
I think what I thought the drama was going to be like was that they both switched bodies and by switching bodies, they would learn about other characters in the story. Like Kim could have learned about how his brother felt by being Pan. Like he could realize his brother has feelings for Pan, he could have learned how Khett always regretted how his relationship with his brother was, and then Pan could have figured out that Way loved Kim and eventually the two could talk with each other about what they've learned.
calm down this was one of the most realistic thai lgbtq stories of 2020
This was not a realistic thai lgbtq story... If you want something that feels authentic to the LGBTQ+ experience watch I Told Sunset about You. That story depicted realism. This story is very supernatural which makes it not realistic at all...Were you, intentionally trolling?
am i the only person who like this series lmao. a sad ending doesn't always mean its a bad ending, at least for…
It was okay. I don't think that people's criticism was that it was a sad ending. I think it's more with the fact that it was heavily teased as a BL when it's clearly not a BL. The focus wasn't on the BL aspect of the story but more on the straight couple.
This was marketed as a BL to get viewership, yet it's not really BL. The one weird incestuous BL kiss that we get was weird...I know it's her kissing him, but the fact that she was still in his brother's body and kissed him was weird.
Like I feel he gives off I love you eyes to everyone. He seems to like Ball a lot, but also seems to like Jin,…
OMG okay me too. He loves Ball, but then he seems to like Jin, but I also thought he liked Bbomb, but then he as a gf? But he's pouty all the time. I think the writers needed to hash out his character more first.
Another girl in her 30s here to agree with you LOL. The behaviors that lead to Teh cheating were definitely on…
Yes, definitely!!! Honestly, for me, the worst thing about Teh wasn't the cheating itself, but that when he was frustrated or upset, he didn't know how to express his feelings in a way that actually helped fix his situation. Always belittling, or talking down to Oh was always heartbreaking. Oh loved Teh so much that he always tried to change himself to be the person Teh would want, and then when he finally started changing for himself, Teh again talked down to him and pushed him aside. To me, that was more upsetting than the 'cheating.' I mean clearly, Teh was into Jai, and Jai picked up on it and used Teh. I felt bad for Oh because again, he always wanted to be loved and treated with respect.
OK, so I have finally got round to watching the third episode of IPYTM and I must say I have great difficulty…
Yes, yes, and yes. I didn't know that this episode caused a lot of drama in the community. After watching ITSAY, I fell in love with this drama for its realism in how a gay relationship my start. I also always saw Teh as gay who just had a lot of internal conflicts. Like he never thought he was gay, but he wanted to be the person he thought everyone wanted him to. As he realized who he was, he started to realize his feelings for Oh-aew. I like the realism in this drama. The tension is what keeps me going like OMG. And also, the product placement isn't a random thing in every episode where they have a weird commercial line explaining about the product.
I just wanna throw this out there for those who say it's not realistic what Teh did:Was it really unrealistic…
I didn't realize the cheating was super contentious for people. For me, Teh's character is acting exactly how I would expect him to. Like you mentioned: he's impulsive, he hides his feelings, he doesn't know how to express himself. Also, like you mentioned: he's growing up and changing. They met in middle school, they started dating at the end of high school, and now they're growing up as adults. They love each other very much, but it's not always about love.
Teh feeling jealous that Oh is growing and changing, and he's resisted change so much. He is stubborn and doesn't like change. Suddenly, he's experiencing something new and instead of being honest with himself, he impulsively jumps at it without thinking of the repercussions. For their age group, and the tension this drama has always had, I think it's quite reasonable and I expected Teh to cheat. It seemed exactly like something his character would do.
