Review Rising Lady
Peak feminist writer - make every man look like shit and every woman look awesome
Lol, in my whole comment I never talked about a man nor is the show anywhere focused on men. And honestly I agree with you, not all men are shit but majority of time it’s still a man, which doesn’t mean that all women are awesome, some can be shit too! Just don’t be shit person, you won’t feel attacked next time you read or watch something like this.

I don't quite comprehend the disappointment surrounding the series. After all, each episode barely exceeds 10 minutes, sometimes even less. The entire series spans a mere 1.5 hours. Within this compact timeframe, I must admit that the storyline, direction, and acting were rather commendable. Crafting a cohesive narrative within such constraints is undoubtedly challenging.

Instead of nitpicking and overanalyzing, perhaps we should simply appreciate the effort put into the visuals and plotline. The creators managed to deliver a compelling story despite the brevity of each episode. Why should we demand more when no one is obligating us to do so?

The only acceptable disappointment here lies in the show's shortened length; it possessed great potential had it been given a normal timeframe.

Let's embrace the series for what it is: a concise yet impactful work of art. Rather than dwelling on perceived shortcomings, let's celebrate its strengths and move beyond the tendency to overly criticize.

Regarding the loopholes in the drama, as I wrote in the review, they exist in my opinion too. But after reading…
My confusion stems from two main issues: firstly, the direction of these scenes isn't well-executed, which adds to the ambiguity. Secondly, there's no clear motive provided for why Yoon Jin's father allowed her boyfriend to assault Jae Won. His character offers no definite answer or specific motive, leaving viewers puzzled as to why these actions were taken in the first place. Yoon Jin's hatred traces back to what occurred 7 years ago at that party, orchestrated by her father. However, the biggest question remains unanswered: why? Was it solely because he opposed his daughter's relationship, even after learning of her pregnancy? This lack of clarity constitutes the central loophole I'm addressing.

Your perspective on the show is certainly intriguing, and it's clear you had a deeply invested experience with it. While I respect your enjoyment and engagement with the drama, my own journey with it led me to a different conclusion. The portrayal of the protagonist's struggles with mental illness is undoubtedly a central theme, and your interpretation of her actions through that lens adds depth to the narrative. However, for me, the execution of this theme and the coherence of the storyline left much to be desired. Despite its flaws, I'm glad to hear that the show resonated with you on a profound level. It's a testament to the diverse range of experiences and interpretations that viewers bring to the table.

Regarding the loopholes I mentioned, they primarily revolve around inconsistencies and unexplained motivations within the storyline. For example, one significant gap lies in the rationale behind Kwon Yoon Jin's actions toward Seo Jae Won and the subsequent murder of Heo Soon Young. While the show attempts to depict Yoon Jin's character as complex and driven by her illness, there's a lack of clear explanation for why she behaves in certain ways, particularly in pivotal moments. Additionally, the abrupt shifts in Yoon Jin's demeanour, alternating between villainous determination and sudden panic, create confusion and undermine the coherence of her character arc. These inconsistencies make it challenging for viewers to fully engage with the narrative and understand the characters' motivations, ultimately detracting from the overall viewing experience.

Furthermore, the decision to kill Heo Soon Young was a significant regret, as it left unresolved the suffering of both Soon Young and Ah Rin. While I understand Jae Won's pain, the lack of a satisfying resolution, or any form of revenge from his side, was disappointing. Additionally, lingering mysteries such as the identity of Ah Rin's father and the orchestrator of Jae Won's suffering at the party remain unresolved, contributing to the dissatisfaction with the show's conclusion. Questions about Yoon Jin's anger towards Jae Won, particularly if her father orchestrated the events at the party, remain unanswered, leaving a gap in understanding her motives. It's important to note that not having a happy ending and having loopholes in the plot are different things. Many shows manage to deliver a satisfying viewing experience despite not having a happy ending, but the presence of plot holes can significantly diminish viewer satisfaction.

Anyone thinking about therapist here, FL secens with the her seems to delusional, like something from a memory. Therapist words are more like FL questioning or giving advice to herself. They always meet where there in no one, it can be because they don't want anyone to know about FL problem but still the cinematography for their scene is eerie and weird in some way.

The drama is exceptionally good – from the compelling plotline and talented cast to the meticulous production and captivating OST. It's been a while since I've come across a masterpiece like this. Each episode brings something new, and just when you believe you've unravelled the entire story, the plot throws another curveball. Every weekend, regardless of how busy I am, I eagerly await the episode releases, making sure to clear my schedule to indulge in the show. I become so engrossed that even a simple call from my roommate can trigger a mini heart attack! 😅 Overall, it stands out as one of the best mystery thrillers, encompassing everything I love about my favourite novel genre portrayed by an amazing cast.

EDIT - After completing the show, my perspective on it has shifted significantly. The ending left much to be desired; while the actors delivered commendable performances, the storyline plummeted so rapidly that I found myself bewildered by its direction. Both Jang Na Ra and So Yi Hyun made sincere attempts to portray their roles with depth, which somewhat enabled me to empathize with their respective emotions. Nonetheless, the show is riddled with numerous plot holes. The motivations behind Kwon Yoon Jin's actions toward Seo Jae Won remain unclear, lacking any substantial explanation. Moreover, the rationale behind Kwon Yoon Jin's decision to eliminate Heo Soon Young is perplexing. It seems his demise was merely a catalyst to bring Yoon Te Oh and Seo Jae Won closer together. Initially, Kwon Yoon Jin's character exhibited desires for both Ah Rin and Soon Young, suggesting a more nuanced storyline that unfortunately wasn't pursued. The inconsistent portrayal of Yoon Jin, vacillating between villainous determination and sudden panic, reflects a lack of direction in character development. Overall, the plot held great promise initially, but faltered midway, veering off course irreparably. It became increasingly challenging to salvage the narrative, ultimately leading to a disappointing conclusion. There's so much more I want to express, but the sheer number of loopholes is overwhelming, making it difficult to know where to begin.

Just to let everyone know know Zhang Han is himself the executive producer of this show. So I don't think its right to blame his team and management alone.
