Brilliant review. Or should I say that you wrote it all what I felt about this drama.
This drama do have some good comedy. SML was really just a filler character, with no substance or anything worthwhile to add. It really went downhill once they got into the real killer. It'd been a bit predictable but still good one if the politician or his aid or anyone similarly concerned were to be the real killer.
Also, great pointing out that sunglasses does not cause complete blackouts, I mean all FL's visions have sound in them, but sunglasses or closing their eyes blocks the audio as well, lol.
I rated it 7 as well mostly for the comedy, specifically the Unnie bit :D.
> I found the ending so dissatisfying. I wasn't shocked by any of the reveals. I wasn't happy. I wasn't sad. I was pretty emotionless because I could see that the show was ending and I just didn't care.
I think indifference is the word you're looking for.
I think the main intention of the series, as the title suggested, was that the mother had a tragic life and it was reflected how she, like most normal people, did not handle it well - mainly how she brought up her son.
Thus, after the son came to disinherit himself, mother did not oppose it while obviously feeling disheartened. All she wanted was that his son would not end up as his parents & have a successful life. I get it the way it was portrayed was possibly triggering, but that was the point of the whole plot.
Also, I think the mask lady was just a comic relief.
i have currently watched 5 episodes and this show is like Gone Girl gone comedic and a convoluted mess, where now it seems every character is involved in the main plot, lol.
I don't if pacing falls off later or the story itself, but, comparatively this rating is too low for this show so far.
Just finished watching this. So much agreed on all your points except number 4, because 4th point is kind of the…
Well, mother's whole character was written around how she doesn't want the deceased to die soon & peacefully. She wanted that guy to suffer for as long as naturally possible, of which ML robbed her off. So, I don't think there were any attempts on his life by the mother.
Great show. I watched it all in less than 2 days./101 - The random comments about Si Young's hair, just why she…
Just finished watching this. So much agreed on all your points except number 4, because 4th point is kind of the whole key plot basis for why ML is the way he is and also the whole series & also the antagonist's main focal point.
Also, 8.5/10. Its not 9 worthy, but its better than other 8's on my list.
Such an underrated drama. I feel like the ratings of this site are getting worse and worse due to lack of diversity…
I agree with everything in your post, except the runtime being short. It's apt, not too long, not too short; just enough to deliver the story perfectly.
And, seriously MDL has so many stupid shows having absurdly high ratings, it kind of messes up the search by rating, when looking up through any specific genre or tag. I am not asking everyone to be at a critic's level while rating, but there has to be some sense or reason.
The most probable choice given that the finale round will be on an island, hence a physical task, it should be to have the Green couple as the opposing team for the Pink couple.
Still rooting for the Green couple.
This show is unexpectedly much more engaging & exciting.
I prefer it to the main series.

Also, the character of mother chasing the killer of his son reminds me of the character recently brilliantly played on the Mask Girl.
