I love the little sound effects lol. When the dad was trying to squeeze out of the house and there was a very non-chalantly placed "pop" sound, I think I found it funnier than it was supposed to be :)
Can u recommend me something that has Yagira Yuya and plz don't recommend me something in which he has his head…
Another drama that I like with Yagira Yuya is "Yutori Desu ga Nani Ka", it's a comedy. Aside from that I can't really recommend many others. I actually still haven't seen a good bit of his filmography, either because it hasn't been subbed or I'm just uninterested.
When I made this comment I was more saying this will be another memorable role for me along with "Nobody Knows". Maybe someone can add in other suggestions. I've personally been patiently waiting for "Gift of Fire" to be available somehwere subbed (his head is shaved in this role though).
I had to pause and google Kuru disease. This drama is entertaining and educational! lol
So the final shot of the former policeman at the beginning of the show, shows him finding the caves where the children are kept, right? And then he was eaten/murdered after.
I feel like they should be a bit more worried about the fact that this little girl keeps wandering off with people! This is why I can't have children
I also think Eiji was bi."I understood was that she took turns sleeping with them multiple times in order to increase…
Haha, it's fine, I feel like it's better to obsess over the details than be mistaken because I feel like sometimes dramas are rated so low or disliked because of misunderstandings. Also the fact that this can incite so much discussion means it was a good show!
You made me actually go back too! In episode 7 when he's talking to Mieko he also says "If ever it really is Eiji's child, I know it's just formalities, but it won't have anything to do with me anymore, right?", So I don't know if they were sleeping with her separately or together like you said, but they definitely tried different times and were aware, because otherwise he wouldn't have to question who's it was.

Sure! Thanks for asking. I thought so because Makki didn't seemed surprised or upset by the fact they were sleeping together. He was upset the whole time because she had lied and he felt like Eiji was paying more attention to Mieko rather than him and he felt that he couldnt provide the same things Mieko could.
The other reason why i believe this, is based on the dialogue. This drama does alot of time skips so it relies on dialogue to fill in the blanks. I don't know if you remember, but before they all slept together, Mieko had a conversation with Makki where he says something along the lines of, "it's not uncommon for people not to get pregnant on the first try", so i think they were inferring that they would keep trying, it just happened off camera.
But yeah, unless i missed something myself, nothing or no character specifically suggested that they were secretly sleeping together. I think they gave us that information (about how far along she was) so that the fact that Eiji was the father would be confirmed to the viewers.
This show had me in the first half but lost me in the second. The drama easily fell victim to bad writing. Unfortunately guys, violent trauma from early childhood wont be solved because you get a girlfriend/boyfriend.
Lol, I watched this movie years ago, loved it (one of my all time favorites), and out of curiosity came to the MAL page to see what the reception is like today. It's always crazy to witness how what people take away from the film changes based on the time period (i.e. a post me-too society)
I think I can safely say More Than Words n Prism are the drama of the year in BL n Straight romance category. They…
I don't know if you wrote this knowing that both this drama and prism actually share the same screenwriter! Explains why both have such beautiful/mature plots.
I'm also surprised reading the comments, because what I understood about the dynamics between Mieko, Makio, and Eiji seem to be really different from what other people got out of it. I also think what happens to the three at the end is a majorly a result of naivety and underestimating the weight of a child.
Furthermore, I do think Eiji was bi. When we first meet him, it seems he was still at a stage of exploration, he realized he liked men, but up until the point of meeting Makki, he had only "admired" the restaurant manager. I think the episode when Makki asks Eiji if he'd ever liked a woman and he admits that Makki was the only guy he's ever loved so far was supposed to be a foreshadow/hint/
I haven't read the manga, so maybe their relationship is portrayed differently. I also see a comment saying that she slept with Eiji secretly, but what I understood was that she took turns sleeping with them multiple times in order to increase the chances of getting pregnant.
Long post, but just wanted to weigh in my own thoughts!
For me, Japan has always been a master when it comes to the slice of life/coming of age genre. This was really beautifully done. What could of easily been a predictable love triangle story, was actually quite nuanced. I love the fact that there were stories that existed outside of the relationship (i.e. abandonment, dementia, ambition or even lack thereof). My only criticism would be shots that lingered too long. This is pretty characteristic in Japanese cinema, and I get what they were trying to do, but I think some of the shots could have been cut by at least 20 seconds.
The fact that this is rated so low makes me so sad. The soundtrack is beautiful. Also Fujiwara Kisetsu is someone I'm going to actively look out for going forward. He's such a strong actor and I'm realizing that I've enjoyed him in all the roles he's acted. He's particularly attractive in this role lol, I don't know what it is. He also seems to pick roles with this kind of tone, and I like this kind of tone when it comes to dramas and movies.

Staying positive about a season 2 renewal. 10/10 for me

In these times where companies are cancelling shows left and right, I get anxious.
What in the Midsommar/Get out is happening in this village. I'm so invested!
It's also great seeing Kasamatsu Sho here, loved him as Sato in Tokyo Vice.
