I rewatched the reunion scene and this thought came after the discovery that King of Haoling and XY may not be blood related. She asks if he is still her father, to which he firmly answers that he will always be her father regardless of whether she calls him that. Deep down XY was unsure so she needed that reassurance. For KoH, I think that he had already known that she was not his daughter but chooses to love her anyway. These non-blood related familial bonds always get me. Such a touching scene

I never watched ALTL but King of Haoling seems like a good person. Just sad that XY mother didn’t love him

I feel really bad for the King of Haoling. Seems like he really loved Xiao Yao’s mother that he even went to go find a replacement that looked exactly like her.

Alright, Cang Xuan playing the flute won me over.

I also find Kui Mu Lang handsome. I find Kui Mu Lang and Qi Pa’s chemistry sizzling, much more than Li Xiong and Qi Pa. Even though they are the same person aha 😂

I do remember that she was cured from it in the novel. It did have lingering effects though

The whole Yanhui falling in love with Tian Yao due to the Fox essence really rubs me the wrong way. Not a fan of characters falling in love due to love drugs. I know it’s for comedic value but it kinda forces the romantic progression and does not feel natural. Even though she returns to normal, some of that infatuation is still there.

They had that in the novel too which I didn’t like. I was hoping they’d keep it out but guess not.

I think the portrayal of Qingqing is perfect because of her traits and characteristics as a bird. When you think about it, if you’ve ever had a pet bird, they are quite chirpy, loud and energetic. I think the character is just right and Pan Mei Ye did a great job portraying it.

I actually really like Zhou Ruji. He was my favorite person in the novel so I can’t help but like him here. He’s just the perfect person. I just wish he and Xin Qi can get along. They’re both great daddies to Quan Quan
