Unpopular opinion, but this is why I was sorely disappointed by episode 14 and 15: Firstly, about breaking up:They…
By this point I'm half convinced that there is some kind of special clause in the Korean constitution with a list of drama tropes from which every drama shot has to chose a minimum of 2 of that have to be included .... :D
I think considering what they chose it wasn't that bad. The fake relationship was handled great. The noble idiocy kinda ruined the excellent excellent episodes covering FL's mothers passing and their promise. Though they kinda admitted that it was a dumb plot within the show when FL says when they reconcile that she regrets it. And we got the super cute and sweet scene of her knitting and the sweater collection she made for ML. So it kinda redeems itself. And it didn't last for long, only one episode.
So all in all IMO even thou they needlessly chose the second trope I thought it didn't hamper the show overall, and it's short.
First episodes are fine.Last episodes are horrible, cheesy over the top melodrama. The whole plot is stupid and…
To be fair, she's 17 mentally, they have known each other by the time she does tell him just over a month. I doubt anybody would just outright say 'ah yeah I was like in a coma for 13 years'. Especially if you happen to have run from the hospital and don't want to return. She trusts the ML brother because mentally they are of the same age so she opens up to him.
Of course this is Dramaland and logic works differently, but it didn't bother me that much. :D
I clicked to see what other shows the FL played in and saw 'She was pretty'. I was like wait I don't remember her in that sho.............. WAIT WUT?! Talk about range :D
I liked this but didn't love it. There was a friendly chemistry with So Ji Sub & Gong Hyo Jin. However, i didn't…
Completely agree about the forced separation and the Deus Ex Guru. He was like "Oh yeah I can see ghosts too. Nope I have no clue why I see hem. But I can tootally promise you I can help you find out because of reasons" Like wut? I thought her realization why she sees them could have been done in the intermission while the ML was in a coma while she worked for the lady in black. It could have been made so that the reason she didn't want ML to find out about his memories is in part to protect him and to find out why she is the way she is (which is the series reason but they backpedaled for like a hot minute for some reason and then returned to it again). Something like 'He might get hurt again, I must master this ability to prevent that'. And with the Aunt being against her we can proceed to have a shortish montage of him trying to find what he feels is clearly missing while still meeting her because 'Dramaland fate' and her escaping/avoiding him. And then finally they reunite with her having the knowledge that she has after the timeskip in the show. And we get at least two episodes of pure fluff about them and the three side couples with some ghost busting in between. With the marriage as conclusion.
Unfortunately I think I would have enjoyed the drama much more if it weren't for the pointless melodrama that seems to be inserted just to pad it out.
If we ignore it I thought the show was fun and the romance was good, But I at least can't ignore the it. Some editing I think would help the show immensely.
Another thing is the Second Lead Syndrome which was quite annoying to me at least.
Is the ML alive, or is he a walking zombie? He absolutely killed this for me, no emotions, just a real major blah…
I kinda found him adorable :D. Like it's juts that he's extremely awkward as he didn't have friends. And as was shown in the flashback his dad was a major jerk who expected to have a robot as a son.
Is it a bit too much? Yep, but none the less I like it. Makes you really notice the progress he makes during the show.
Lord, relax! He isn't that bad nor was he being serious! If you hadn't dropped the drama you'd've seen that she…
He just has a sharp tongue. She beat him several times, shin kicks/toe stomps/hit him with the purse in the middle of the hotel with his employees watching.
He's assertive sure but he listens to her and does as she says pretty much all the time.
All in all I think they were both respectable to each other while still remaining human, which means they both got it wrong at times.
Please recommend me another drama like this (not plot wise, more like the feelings it gave you) - it's the first…
As far as it being a fluffy drama and it giving you the same kind of feelings (specifically "AWWW MY GAWD THAT IS SO CUTE!!")
I reccomend:
Shopping King Louie What's Wrong with Secretary Kim She Was Pretty
Disclaimer about She Was Pretty, first four episodes are a drag and you might get the urge to give up, as I did. But if you manage to go through them you will be treated to some of the fluffiest scenes captured on film.
They all have a ridiculous amount of episodes solely dedicated to giving us the good vibes and romantic moments where noting in terms of plot happens.
IMO the order in which you should watch them is She Was Pretty, What's Wrong With Secretary KIm and then Shopping King Louie.
If you need more I would add Oh My Venus. The only reason I didn't include it in the initial list is because the leads IMO don't really have chemistry, but the actors are good and do their damnedest to emulate chemistry as much as possible.
I'm not sure if I just missed this but... did they explain how he came to own all of her inventions in that yellow…
I think it was implied that since her inventions all revolve around connecting people he was naturally searching for specifically those types of items, hence why he over the years ended up buying everything she made.
And of course we leave it to fate that he found specifically her items :D
The only thing I thought lacked was an episode of their wedding and a brief fast forward to their children. In my head canon: *they have around fourish children *Bok Shil finished school with a degree in marketing *After a futile battle trying to win over Cha Joong Won, Ma Ri finally gave in and had a rough time dating In Seong, but they stayed togeather *Joong Won finnaly found his love in Wang Mong Sil but had to go through a lot to win her over as she found his behavior very suspect. But after a year of hard work he did it *With the help of Cleopatra, Vivian and Audrey Detective Nam Jung Heyok also found a nice girl who just loves landscaping and internal desing ;)
If you ever wondered "What if both leads were airheads?" in a rom-com, well here you go :D
This one is like the essence of love transmuted into video. Way too many cute and hearth melting moments to count or list. I loved it from beginning to end.
One for those who want a light and easy watch with lots and lots of fluffy and cute moments with bit of drama sprinkled in (said drama which lasts briefly). Oh and lot's of comedy too. I thought the comedy was spot on. A drama to warm your hearth and make you feel good. 10/10 for me, exactly what I wanted to watch.
There is no real story to speak of so if you're looking for a complex plot with lot's of twists and turns this is not for you.
One warning to those who watch the whole episode intro and outro, don't believe the next episode preview, a few times it was straight up false and showed either scenes or dialog that did not happen.
It's a comedy first and romance somewhere in between second and third place.
I really did not feel the 'off the charts' chemistry people claim the two mains have, but they did their best and did a good job at it.
The main antagonist scenes I mostly skipped because it was way to different from the rest of the show and because I just didn't want to watch a unnecessarily dark/creepy plot in a comedy/romance.
All in all I liked the show. If you enjoy comedy that this has some great stuff in for you. If you're looking for lot's of romance and romance being the main thing I don't think this is it.
SHE DID NOT DESERVE THE LOVE AND ATTENTION SHIN HYUK GAVE HER!!! HE WAS AN ANGEL!!! He loved her and preferred…
I disagree wholeheartedly. I thought the show portrayed well that despite him thinking that the other girl was his long lost friend he slowly but surely fell in love with his true friend.(In a few scenes we see him feel guilty that he loves another, despite his 'friend' being right beside him.)
The scene where they spend basically all day and night talking on the business trip I think shows well that he core of who they are is what made them fall in love with each other while they were young and the same thing brought them together 15 years later.
I too feel for Shin Hyuk as he's an awesome character. But, you really need to do some mental gymnastics and not see how the leads are tailor made for each other :D
Liked the drama a lot, and again all of the episodes :D
It's a lighthearted rom-com with and overflow of fluff and romance.
The one thing I do have to say is the actors did a great job in their roles and did their best to conjure chemistry.
Despite the before mentioned I highly recommend it to everybody who's looking for a relaxing romantic comedy with lot's of romance, a dash of drama and funny moments.
The story proper ended at about episode 11 and then we get to see what happens after the ending of most dramas when the couple get's together :D.
To be honest I have no idea what the people are complaining about. Episodes 12 onward are just the extra you always want with the shows you like :D. The story is not interrupted or changed, the characters are the same and it ties up some extra stuff like the rest of the in office couples, side characters ect.
All in all I enjoyed it immensely and recommend it to everybody who enjoys a lighthearted show with a few emotional scenes lot's and lot's of romance and some nice and light comedy.
Also, this pairing just adds to my collection of actors I want to meet in real life and somehow make them do a skit for me so I can record it :D. For this one I want the actor of Lee Young Joon to sit/stand next to the actor of Kim Mi So and say "Secretary Kim" and I want her to eagerly turn towards him and say "Yes?" with that adorable way :D google says it's written as 네, either way one can dream :D
I was already checking ticket prices for a flight to Korea to visit the writer who thought of that :D. thankfully it ended up a sweet moment.

#1. Do you like Messi?
