Gripping
Hwayi: A Monster Boy is a gripping tale of a kidnapped child groomed to kill by his five thieving abductors. Longing for a normal life and robbed of his agency, his world is turned upside down when he uncovers the truth behind his first kill. Yeo Jin Goo masterfully conveys the emotions of an adolescent manipulated by adults under horrific circumstances. The supporting cast is superb, making this difficult-to-watch but beautifully told tale a powerful and unforgettable experience.
