Pursuit of Jade – Worth the Wait
I read the novel before watching this, so I was not patient at all waiting for the drama—and honestly, it was 100% worth it.What I really liked is how they handled Fan Changyu. She’s strong, but not perfect. She’s emotional, sometimes reckless, still learning—and that’s what makes her journey so satisfying to watch. You actually see her grow into the person she becomes.
Xie Zheng is the complete opposite in a way. He’s already established, calm, and strategic. He doesn’t need constant big battle scenes to prove himself—you just know what he’s capable of. His strength is in his presence and decisions.
Their relationship is one of the best parts. It doesn’t feel rushed or forced. It builds slowly—from survival, to trust, to something much deeper. It feels real.
And the side characters actually matter here. The little sister, the soldiers, even the villains—everyone adds something. The villains especially are interesting because they’re not just evil for no reason.
As a novel reader, I was honestly a bit nervous, but they really delivered. It stayed true to the core story while still working well as a drama. For me, this is a perfect 10/10. It kept me hooked, made me care about the characters, and lived up to all the expectations I had going in.
Definitely worth the wait.
