How do you deal with the obsession over behind-the-scenes content? I feel like I’ve gotten really drawn into it—especially now with that video where Ziyu leans on Tian and Tian coughs in embarrassment. I guess when you're an actor, you start to really get into character. And it’s no coincidence there’s another part where Tian sings "“I got so into character", but then Ziyu’s reaction is one of confusion and a certain distress. I’ve seen others feel the same way. There’s a certain closeness between the actors that makes it feel so real—and then it’s disappointing when you realize it was just a show.
There are reviews I wrote in the past that I would rewrite today, since many years have passed… I hardly write reviews anymore, but I’m glad you’re enjoying them.
I always say" if China really could produce bls freely with no restrictions,no other country, would stand a chance.…
Totally get where you're coming from - everyone connects differently. That said, Japanese BL often offers a kind of emotional subtlety and thematic depth- The Chinese dramas, on the other hand, are less deep.
Guys there is delay because content censorship is in the works. They are re-editing the upcoming episodes to "sanitize"…
No, They said it was the work of a voice editor, and even Chinese sources confirmed that the changes were due to the dubbing process—not censorship. It’s also been stated multiple times that this series won’t be censored. By the way, the version released on the Korean app is actually less censored. As for what you shared—it’s from behind-the-scenes footage, so it’s not really relevant. It’s possible the scene was edited that way simply due to poor editing, not because of censorship. This is based on a collection of comments and updates from the past week.
Not to offend anyone but the doom and gloom cancellation fears and panic seem a bit out of place now that there's…
I think your comment overlooks some important historical context. In the past, there were cancellations and real consequences. The fact that two series are currently airing doesn’t necessarily reflect a broader change—production teams are simply finding temporary ways to bypass restrictions, and there’s no guarantee the authorities won’t eventually find ways to shut those down. It’s worth considering that some viewers have been following this genre for years and experienced the impact of those sanctions firsthand, so their perspective is valid.
Also, the current series only has three episodes so far, while RL began a bit later in its timeline. The dynamic between the actors is quite different, and RL is a much, much stronger show. That’s not to say the other one isn’t good—it is—but RL clearly stands out.
I came across a comment claiming that people are only into RL because it’s rare. They claim the acting is bad, the production is average, and it’s no better than any Thai series. That’s so ridiculous I had to respond.
Back when the BL wave began, there were just as many Chinese series as Thai ones, yet the Chinese productions consistently stood out—with stronger storytelling, acting, and direction.
To this day, Thai dramas still rank at the bottom, despite the sheer volume they produce. Right now, there are only two Chinese series airing—RL and DESIRE—and both are far superior to almost any Thai BL drama from the past few years in terms of acting, story, and production.
There’s a scene where Chi is sitting alone in the dark drinking alcohol, and When Wu walks into the room he yells at him — and the dubbing there is really Funny.
A very big gap. If you read the novel you would stone Chang to death and curse Wang then pity Guo. Cheng was abusive…
I watched parts of Addicted again and I regret what I wrote earlier. I'm truly sorry for that, and I agree with you – it's not something that should be produced anymore. I've come to realize that I’ve changed a lot too, and I can no longer tolerate it or accept it. I’m firmly against it now.
