It can actually end 2 ways... but if it’s their real story then there is many people know him Xiao Wudi how they accept him as Mao Xiaojun. Suddenly name changed and how he got Mao Xiaojun identity because they already visited his grave! (many plot holes).So, my opinion in the end they told everything truth!

They showed two different person in novel but I think both author Nan Xing husband(different shades) Because Nan Xing used to think Mao Xiaojun doesn’t love her but actually he likes her but never confessed it and little bit ignored her.. When Fairy Zhen gave Mao Xiaojun to wish for something he said always protect Nan Xing. But he died to save Nan Xing & her father...
Mao Xaiojun also wrote a story & It was about Xiao Wudi (strong martial artist) ...so, actually Xiao Wudi character created by Mao Xiaojun. When he died fairy still want to fulfil his wish as he said to protect Nan Xing. So when Nan Xing wished for unforgettable love,fairy let him travel in real world(I mean Xiao Wudi) to protect Nan Xing.

I enjoyed watching this drama a lot. I enjoyed watching You are my glory in 2021 and Mr. Bad in 2022.

If you don't watch whole drama you won't understand anything. It is best book-time travel drama I've ever seen in Chinese drama(Obviously compared to others)! Also Happy ending!
Not some other guy,It’s Xiao Wudi her husband but his name Mao Xiaojun in real(Chen Zheyuan). In the novel she defined Mao Xiaojun as dark side and light side is Xiao Wudi of her husband. Mao Xiaojun actually created the character Xiao Wudi to protect Nan Xing. Nan Xing whole novel also based on there real events of their life, they just added fantasy & some changes to make it more interesting
