Yeah true, this plot has been used sooo many times that by now if we read the summary/watch the trailer we know exactly what to expect. People were expecting something else altogether. It is a guilty pleasure, not a serious watch. People need to stop judging and taking everything seriously and enjoy. Not all the series has to be deep and full of twists. And moreover half the plot is yet to be revealed in MD, we're just on ep 5.

i know that very well, considering the fact that I am consuming this genre for over 10years now. But what i said is a fact, we can't compare Legend of Fu Yao or Eternal Love or even Ashes of Love to this one as with every passing year technology advances, and we need something more spectacular.
I am not complaining here, but I just wanted to point out, that sometimes the CGI is getting very choppy, which is understandable, but in important scene, like the God of War's intro, they only focused on LYX's effect, which was spectacular with all the sparkles and all, but the entire background of the scene was awful. If the BG was a little polished, the entire scene would've blown away viewer's mind.
LBFAD had some shitty CG's too, like that one time Dylan made his fire roam around in circle when the heaven's emperor tied up Esther and was beating the shi out of her. But when it came to a big battle scene, they maintained a certain color balance throughout their entire scenes, and also even though they focus on the ML/FL, they kept the other CGI's consistent with it. The black color did not look so weird, which is looking weird with TTEOTM.
What i am trying to say is that, there is some inconsistency. Which is noticeable. Also I do not mind the tiger at all, I have seen worst and this tiger demon is still good.
I just wanted to share my view, I am loving the drama, however or whatever the CGI be, i am going to devour this drama.
Agreed, the CG is a pendulum. I actually think watching the drama at a lower quality (not 1080p) is better all-around…
the thing is, i do not want to see their beautiful faces in anything less than a 1080p. Also the colors and the cinematography over all is so goddamn beautiful. Like i was in awe the first 3-4 eps with the bgs, color schemes, costume and everything. I am still crazy over the head gears they are wearing ngl. Also the under-river clan whatever it is called, their glittery makeup, it's chef's kiss.
Though the tight shots sometimes is weird because of the makeup cakey thingy, specially on our main man LYX, but we gotta bear with it.
And I agree with you, smoothening is bad, but a little photoshop is needed everywhere i think.
Man, this drama got me good. But one thing that throws me off a bit is the CG, sometimes it's so choppy, and sometimes it's so good. They really did well with the minute details, to whatever is needed, like TTJ's demonic sniper gun thingy and also God of War's close-cut scenes CG, even the binding of the dragon looked good. Overall everything looks super but the background fight scenes look so bad. After watching LBFAD I was expecting something even more brilliant than that but it's okay.
Also, did anyone notice how cakey the makeup looks in tight shots? they could've given a smooth effect if it's looking that cakey.
But all hail LYX and Bai Lu and am absolutely loving Deng Wi
I honestly can't compare. One is like puppy love, another is dark-themed. For people preferring fluffy stuff, they'll like MSP more, but for people liking mature themes/dark themes, they'll prefer NLMG more. For me, who watches everything, I like both. But after watching all types of series for more than 10years now, MSP is nothing new to me except that Forth and Gemini are super cute and adorable. The storyline is very predictable and kind of recycled. We have seen this type of story a lot of times in Thai BL's. It's a classic GMM series.
But NLMG is very good too, a little slow-paced, but the acting and cinematography are so good, it's art. It's a great one, more so since it's coming from GMM, as they do not dive into mature/dark theme, though they are doing it recently and doing a great job with it.
Anyway, this is a great one so far, and I honestly have no idea why they did not like it. When I think about it, some people also did not like Manner Of Death, haha, so iykyk.
All her "love" stories are actually stories of her helping different people, who take this help a bit too romantic…
She will still go ahead and marry Tang Huan. She also felt betrayed when she learned that Cang Nan kept all the girls in the palace even though she was told that they'll be sent off.
Cang Nan had feelings for her, whatever it was or how less it was, whether it was love or not. Even the first guy she killed had feelings for her. But they wanted something more, something was more valuable to them than her.
And it's completely understandable. She likes them, and she herself explained in ep10 that she as a girl want someone to spend her life with.
And this is a reverse harem kinda situation going on, so they are her love interests. I refuse to believe they were not her "love" stories. Except this recent one with Tang Huan, i agree she is just helping him out of kindness, though i do not understand why she agreed to marry him, it's like she can't reject anyone.
The FL is good, she's naive but good. And I am a little irritated by her boy stories, but not that much, since each of her loves were the first to her. But I honestly do not understand what is going on.
Also leaving LHY alone, how can ZZJ be so beautiful godaamit
Was looking for old jdramas to watch as I am in a nostalgia phase, and remembered how I will never get to see him in a new work anymore. 2 years back I was anticipating his new works so much, but well. Came here to check up on him, even though he's not here anymore. You'll always remain my favourite actor, have a good rest!
