romantic dramas also have low scores, how can you be sure the reason the ratings are low because of the romance and not the quality of the dramas themself?

Comparing it with Renegade Immortal isn't wrong isn't the genre of this drama a mixture xianxia and wuxia? Renegade Immortal is the best novel wuxia novel out there. No wonder why it feels so cheap even if we compare it with the anime adaption.

5.7 Douban score is not without reason. You can't judge a building by it's exterior aesthetics, this is after all a drama not a painting so what matters is script, directing, acting quality + CGI. Taking about CGI did you see the water physic? Counter-Strike 2 does a better job, even video games from ten years ago.
