This is not an American remake. It's a competition reality show. It features real contestants, not actors. People tried out for this, and though most are American, there are contestants from other nations as well.

So entertaining so far. Want to say that this competition show is exactly the opposite of what the original probably intended. It was anticapitalist, a satire about greed and selfishness, and now these people are competing using greed and selfishness. I wonder how the original writer of Squid Game must have felt or if he sold out for the cash. I'm just commenting--I truly don't know. What I can say is how much I am enjoying the show. It's well-produced and the writing is great at creating high stakes even though no one is dying here. Truly excellent work, though I don't think it will get the credit it is due, due to the subject matter.
