Hey, sorry been offline for a while. trying to catch up. You may have already figured out the answer. MDL lists these short series as "Vertically Filmed" as they are filmed in a vertical direction like a cell phone as opposed to regular series that are horizontally filmed. No dumb questions in my book. :)
About 2 years ago, China implemented new regulations to make short dramas more family friendly or at least support more wholesome and state approved themes. somethings still get by, but a lot are more vanilla now. you can probably google something on it.

sorry for late reply, been offline. I don't think so. Usually, if a MC is together in real life, you can find a comment on their MDL page. However, most are really good at hiding that information for as long as possible.
