Where did you see a release date?
It had a surprise screening (which I would also assume is the premiere screening) at the 2023 Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival on July 9th and they’ve started promoting it since, so that’s what that was. But hopefully that also means we’ll be getting an official release date soon. 🤷‍♂️

Also let's not forget that young brother manipulated his elder brother into a relationship by threatening him…
Again, I didn’t say that this was Stockholm Syndrome. I’m just saying that Stockholm Syndrome exists. I’m not going to argue with you about this because that is not why I am on here. I would suggest that you look into what the actual definition of rape is though because it is much more complex and broad than you seem to think. It is not my job to educate you on what rape is or isn’t, but if you do a simple definition search, you will find the answer includes this situation.

I wasn’t saying that those particular characters are an example of Stockholm Syndrome, I was just saying that it does exist, meaning that victims of abuse/rape do in fact fall in love with their abusers. You said that what happened wasn’t rape because no one in the world would ever have a heart that is big enough to accompany their rapist to sleep the next day by holding their hands and I was just saying that it does happen. It’s the same thing as when a husband rapes his wife; they may be married and in love but it is still rape if it isn’t entirely consensual. I don’t have a problem with BL series depicting things/scenes like this, but if they do then they should call it what it is, ya know. I’m not directing that at you but BL series’ in general. Context can be very important in BL series, but there are certain things where there is no in between. A series acknowledging something as sexual abuse/sexual assault/rape/etc. is much better than them ignoring it or normalizing it. That’s all I’m saying.

Title HIStory4: Close to You Spoiler

I gotta say, that would definitely be considered rape. And when victims fall in love with their abusers, it’s called “Stockholm Syndrome”. It actually happens more than you think. I think the problem that most people have with so many BL’s maintaining this particular trope is that it then “normalizes” that kind of behavior. I’m not going to say that I didn’t enjoy the series overall because I did. And I personally don’t judge step-brother characters falling in love since they’re not related by blood anyway. But that scene did make me feel pretty uncomfortable. Although not as uncomfortable when Fu Yong Jie showed the video to their parents, because that was honestly pretty sick, not going to lie. I didn’t understand the point of that at all. I would’ve slapped him silly if I was his parent. With that being said, I didn’t dislike the series and would probably watch it again, but it’s certainly not the best HIStory series either. I agree that Trapped is probably the best. Although Crossing The Line comes pretty close.

Not even all the way through Episode 1 yet and I already hate “Khai”! I thought Off’s character of “Pick” in Puppy Honey 1 & 2 was kind of a jerk, but this character he’s playing is a total ASSHOLE! (Excuse my language) Of course I’ll keep watching cuz I still like Off as an actor and I LOVE Gun in anything, but no matter what, I wouldn’t put up with a friend OR a bf like that in real life! No one deserves to be treated like that and it brings up a lot of emotions for those of us who HAVE been by so many throughout life. But, good acting is convincing and makes you feel, so there ya go.

btw wine didn’t kill them, he just kidnapped them and took their blood
Pretty sure he killed Boy. You don’t get blood splatter on you like that from just wounding someone, usually. And I only know that from CSI, I swear! Lol.
