Almost 60% of the series is over and it’s still at the same level popularity wise as at the starting. This is…
Honestly, you're right. On balance, it isn't that good. And I have to say, if no one else will, that Mick's deadpan acting isn't helping. It might be that Mick just doesn't have that much acting ability, or it might be the director, but, and I truly hate to say this, Mick's been a downer in just about every scene he's been in.
This episode was better than the last. The last episode didn't really move the story along. Earlier, I somewhat panned Mick's acting but I have to say in an emotional scene he delivered OK. So, it may be the director who is directing him. I'd like to see Mick in a more demanding role to see what he can do. When he is on the stage musically he has a tremendous amount of confidence and good presence. It would be interesting to see if he can deliver on that level in acting, too.
The only time I was moved by his acting is the laser tag scene and him with the cat I get he's a stiff and serious…
It's obvious seeing clips of Mick in a natural situation that he's quick-minded and outgoing. The best direction I think I'd give him would be, "Look, Mick, when you are on in a scene just act like you own the place."
I hate to say this, I really do, but Mick needs an awful lot of coaching. At some points it's obvious he's reading his lines off cue cards. And while most of the time he delivers the lines well enough, his facial features are for the most part deadpan and unconvincing.
He's sure a hairy little guy!
He was alright. Not stellar, but alright for pretty much his first time out.
And props to Mick for not shaving his legs. He looked real.
