Is it only a bunch of different cases, or is there a background story too? I feel like if it's only different cases, I would be more likely to drop the drama after a case maybe... :c

I don't think she HAD to explain everything. The writer wanted to focus on new things. So people can still enjoy the second season without having to watch the first one (marketing strategy so more people are targeted?).
I don't know, I think the drama is very fresh. It's not focused on romance but on friendship and hard times a woman in her 20s can face. I think you focus way too much on romance when it's not the main point in this drama, and that's why you were disappointed as well.
I don't get it. I just saw your review on the first season of AoY and you clearly didn't like it AT ALL. Why bother watching season 2 if season 1 was THAT bad to you?
