Do you need to watch season 1 before season 2 or can you understand the general idea from season 2 alone? I don't really want to watch season 1 and then have the actress change in season 2.

There are no breakup scenes, but something happens in ep 26, which causes them to drift apart a little, but it's solved in like one episode so it's fine. Before they get together, Cheng Ge gets forced to go on a blind date with another girl, but it doesn't affect his affection for Tong Yao and it actually creates some great scenes too. 😁 Tong Yao's ex-boyfriend turns out to be very supportive of her in the end.
