with grey i mean not good and not bad, sometimes morally questionable. i think actors get paid, they sign a contract before starting the shooting. who doesn't see back their money it's the producer, i don't know if they have some sort of insurance, but the crew has to be paid, costumers, make up artists, technicians, those who do the cgi and i think some of them get paid in advance.

i'm not familiar with the ml, but WCR is a good actress. most of the job is done also by the rest of the crew, so Tencent is trusting also them. good actors are nothing without good director and good screenwriter (as many drama sadly already proved to us)

bad scripts don't help

it's not the acress fault, she's very good in the first half, then everything goes sideways: the story flips like it's a totally different story, from black humor to bland romcom filled with tropes; characters start being ooc. i felt so betrayed that i'm still angry about it ahaha. anyway i finished it, i rarely drop things, i usually tell myself : if you finished renaissence (wich is actually so bad that turns around and becomes enjoyable) and the general's lady you can finish everything. i did the same with unchained love
