potrayed the most realistic and healthy relationship ever

in one word what makes this cdrama great and soo much better than other cdramas is that THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THE MAIN LEADS and the fact that how REALISTIC it is. the story itself isn’t much, simple plot. and some people find it boring because of the lack of drama . But to me thats a plus point, no unnecessary drama, conflict and misunderstanding between the characters. often times the relationships potrayed in shows are unrealistic, but the relationship between the main leads is realistic, they face general problems that all couples face but they both are supportive of each other and communicate their problems. and another thing is that GREEN FLAGS💚, and the romance was slowly built up, not in a rush, which will gove you butterflies. i rearly watch cdramas and I don’t really like cdramas because how long they are and how they drag the story too much, byt even tho hidden love has more episodes than a typical 16 episodes kdrama, i still enjoyed every pit of it. I also fell in love with the ost

charecters that will win your heart, a comfort drama

meanwhile everyone is hyping around my demon , this beautiful masterpiece got swept under the rag. Not many people are talking abthis drama. At first i was also very excited about my demon byt after episode 10 it got soo boring that I didn’t wanna watch it anymore, the story was soo cliche. on the other hand welcome to samdalri kept me hooked till the last episode. from the first glance it looks like homecha. well it is similar to homecha. but many simple slice of life kdramas often feel slow and boring eventually . Byt tahts the speciality of welcom to samdalri. the drama isn’t too slow, in the first few episodes it’s a bit slow but then it keeps getting better and better. What i liked the most about this drama are the side characters. each and every charecter is soo beautifully written. From young pil’s father to samdal’s parents and sisters, everyone’s own story was very intresting to watch. i think this one thing lacks in my demon which is good side charecters with their own story instead of revolving around the main leads. The message of this drama is absolutely beautiful as well. The last episode just feels like a warm hug of a cold day

the female lead gave me second hand embarrassment

at first the story doesn’t seem that bad with the cliches of past lives and stuff but the female lead just got on my nerves soo much . Now a days kdramas are about strong and smart female charecters. But here the fl didn’t seem to have any self respect or common sence whatsoever. and also I couldn’t really feel any chemistry between the leads. It didn’t even look like the ML was falling is love, It just looked like he was doing all that against his will . and then suddenly confesses his love. and then again saying it had nothing to do with the potion was weird. and the ML technically was cheating on his then girlfriend. They tried to cover it up by making that girlfriend a cheater as well, otherwise the ML would’ve been bashed for it. anyways i rearly have kdramas soo much

My heart aches for Xaofeng

Xaofeng my baby, I wish I could hug her. She was a girl so full of life, Not once even in the eastern palace did she ever try to hurt anybody and all she got was get hurt in return. If you watch the drama from her perspective, after loosing her memories and comming to the palace, she started to like Li chengyin again but found out even her husband lovess another woman, and He never missed and opportunity to remind her that. I know Chengyin pretended to act that way and it was for show but xhaofeng never knew that. She never knew that chengyin actually loved her over sese until her memories came back. Imagine being so far from home, being told the man you are marrying had killed your grandfather , having no one in the palace who truely cared for her and on top of that feeling unloved by her own husband. Her story was truely so heartbreaking and I feel like she had a much better motive and drive to take revenge which would've been a great story in itself. Usually in revenger dramas I can't really resonate with their motives to take revenge but for Xhaofeng, I wanted to take revenge on her behalf because of all that has happened to her. At the end she couldn't kil chengyin so the only punishment was to leave him all on his own forever.
By the end of the drama she was no longer the carefree princess, Without A'du she no longer had anyone beside her, she was truely lonley.

When starting this drama, I knew it had a plot revolving around memory loss and i thought I was gonna be fine if it happends towards the end and only one person forgets it,like how we see in other dramas. but in this drama, Li chengyin didn't get his memories back till the very last episode. They dragged it for no reason only for the sake of having 50+ episodes. from episode 20 to 40, nothing happens and i think even if i skipped it, nothing would change. I would have rather preferred a redemption acr for Xhaofeng and see li chengyin actually repenting for his sins.

Li Chengyin, the blueprint of toxic red flag male lead. I will forgive gu jian because he repented for his sins, he was remorseful but cheng yin obviously didnt remember anything to feel guilty but also he never treated her well despite starting over. Now you might tell me it was all for politics, but like gu jian said "there is a diffrence between caring for a person and showing that care. All his actions keep hurting her". Even when he knew how much xaofeng cared for gu jian , he killed gu jian in front of her eyes out of jealousy, KNOWING HOW MUCH IT WOULD HURT HER. His love for her was selfish. He only wanted to keep her trapped with him, never once considering her feelings. He deserved that ending. I feel like her never once repented or truely felt guilty for betraying xaofeng. I think the biggest punishment xaofeng could give him was leaving him forever. He doesnt deserve to get to live with her.

Lastly, Gu Jian, He will always be the hero and the male lead in Xhaofeng's life. She loved him first. After her memories were lost, He never left her side. Protected her till her last breath. He didn't force her even before her wedding night when she chose to marry changyin instead of returning back. He loved and protected her even if she had someone else in her heart unike chengyin who couldn't bare the thought of Xhaofeng loving someone else. Gu jian truely wanted her to be happy and take her back to her homeland even if she never reciprocated his feelings. He was was always there for her to lean on and fall back on, he would catch her. At the end he knew stepping into the estern palace meant sucide but he still kept his promise, he showed up beause he got the singnal from the whistle. He always felt guilty and repented for it unlike chengyin. Chengying only wanted to keep her to himself but gu jian aways wanted her happiness. Even after all that I will never understand why would she still choose chengyin, before her memories returned. He didn't deserve to die so painfully. To me he is the hero in Xhaofeng's life.

never seen anything like this before

The plot and the story is just soo different, unique and intriguing. at least when it comes to historical kdrama, nothing else compares to “Alchemy if souls”. That is because all historical kdramas revolv around the real history or real historical kings or joseon. But AOS is totally different from this perspective. its not the typical historical setting, doesn’t always revolve around the crown prince and king. EVEN THE COSTUMES AREE SOO GOOD, its nit exactly treditional korean hanbok. the outfits are a bit glamorised version of the treditional outfits. even the attire if the king and crown prince seems to be better and a modernised version of the traditional outfits. AND THE VISUALS ARE OUTSTANDING. What makes a kdrama great is its side charecters and their depths. I absolutely loved the second lead COUPLES. Soo much is going on in the second half if the show that it gets very confusing from time to time. i still found a lot if plot holes. Yet i enjoyed it, and the ending is just……no spoilers tho. i wished for a better ending but as we all know season 2 is there. The first few episode of season 2 is a mess, even tho they explained it still it feels a bit illogical in some cases.
anyways I absolutely enjoyed it, the production and ost were also 10/10. I WISH NETFLIX PRODUCED MORE OF THESE GLAMORISED AND FICTIONAL HISTORICAL KDRAMAS, ITS JUST WAYY BETTER THAN THE ONES BASED OFF THE REAL HISTORY AND PLACE

A heartwarming drama that will make you cry and laugh at the same time with a unique plot

I’ve been watching dramas for many year but I think despite the fact that twinkling watermelon is a new kdrama compared to my past favourite, it has achieved the top spot among my favourite kdramas of all time. Nothing compares to this kdrama. i don’t think I’ve ever cried soo much while watching ANY SHOW. and even tho it will make you cry, it has a happy ending and the story isn’t gloomy or sad either. its just heart touching in its own way and will also make you laugh. Here the actor that played “yoon chung ah”, her acting was outstanding, the way she communicated her feeling with just her eyes and hands is fascinating. the story isn’t too slow either.
