zhang linghe def has potential after seeing him in LBFAD , needless to say he already has the visuals :) ive always adored bailu, her charisma and chemistry with the ML in any drama is amazing, i can literally feel the chemistry through the photos alone XD im v excited for this!! looks v promising
all i can think is lu zhao yao meets dong fang qing cang..im scared my laptop will catch fire due to their chemistry…
rightt š¹ im so excited to see their chemistry! they both have such insane visuals and charisma. i also really wish for a historical drama with both of them, DD looks especially handsome in ancient clothing š
This is based on what I understand. Lady Chidi spirit cant be 'harvest' and used to unseal the soldiers unless…
ohh ok thank you! but so that means if shes fulfilled her fate, then when they take out her spirit, it will turn into ashes? but that doesnt seem right, because theyre doing everything they can to prevent it from vanishing
hello im here to ask some questions about ep 19 because im quite confused lol. spoilers ahead!
so they find the reincarnation of lady chidi in a baby and take her primordial spirit, but DFQC puts it back and his brother asks him why the spirit didnt vanish after being taken out, but why does that matter? will the soldiers only be unsealed if her spirit vanishes? and then they go to the mortal world to get her primordial spirit, why? what was wrong with the one in the baby? also how did orchid know the poem in the destiny book, did i just totally forget a scene where she looks in it? T-T sorry if my questions are a bit stupid XD but grateful for any replies :)
i love how everythings connected, this is beautifully done, the comedic relief during yan wei and you yiās scenes together are so adorable im smiling like a fool. only on ep4 but i think im already in love w this drama (and yan wei), giving this a 10 rating rn, damn those haters
Republican dramas are a lot of fun and generally end up as many of my favourites, especially with so much going…
yes definitely agree with u on preferring the emotions and seeing all the little actions and words that show how much one loves the other part of romance. its much harder to show love and create chemistry on screen with just words and glances but many dramas that just focus on physicality also have zero chemistry. i mentioned arsenal military academy in my original comment and the romance in that really focused on emotions and chemistry, and i guess thats why its still one of my favourites to this day :)

ive heard of one other GL cdrama also set in republican(?) period called āthe messageā released in 2020 but as it seems theres no sign of any subtitles being added i havent watched it :(
my first ever cdrama was arsenal military academy, and that just made me love republican era dramas purely for the setting and styling and colours, and this looks like is GL as well, 2 of my fav things :)) excited!!
exceptional acting and directing, many aspects really hit close to home and made me ugly cry, i loved the rare bits of comedic relief that were incorporated very nicely, and most importantly it really gets across the messages and themes such as how parentsā greed can really deteriorate a childs mental health, what really is the meaning of success. i could sympathise with most characters, although not always agreeing with their actions, there was amazing character development and depth, i think the ending tied up loose ends nicely spoilers ahead :) i probably shouldnt but i do feel very sad for coach kim nearer the end episodes when we finally understood her past, but i really could not sympathise with her motives and actions, surely if she went through that pain of what happened to her child she wouldnt want to be responsible for the destruction of more families and would want to make sure such tragedy doesnt happen to them instead lol. and did we ever find out if she did indeed tamper with the car brakes? anyways, the scene where she finally sees K really broke me actually, and also the scene where her assistant revealed she helped him overcome his drug addiction, shes not inherently a bad person, if only she had chosen a different path in life :( kim seohyung is a phenomenal actress
im def gonna miss this drama, all of them were such marvellous actors and actresses. i especially loved kim seohyung, this is my first drama iāve seen from her and definitely gonna watch more, her portrayal of jung seohyun was beautiful, the internal conflict of the character was shown so well and the struggle of being a sexual minority really resonated with me. the ending was very satisfying, seeing the three badass women with the world in their hands, as they should!! i loved that all three of them worked together at the end, the powerrr, and seohyun finally mustering up the courage to be unapologetically herself and call suzy ahhh my seozy heart TT their scenes together were the most heart wrenching omg. it got a little bit confusing and messy towards the last few eps imo with the back and forth between past and present but an absolutely stunning drama
I think for this drama the love triangle tag was so unnecessary. They just want to make it much more than it's.…
yess omg i also adore strong female characters, the drama did not do long weier and li xuan justice, more episodes were def needee for character development. i loved the scene whereshe watched fireworks with lixuan on her birthday :( also she wanted to kill youlian and the kunwu clan before but then, didnt? like idk if my memory is bad but i swear she said or implied she had nothing against kunwu? idk, and is it just me or her birthmark kinda reminds me of those kunwu marks haha. and for that matter, the drama didnt do youlian justice either, youlianās teacher was so useless lol, and as i said before there is literally nothing special about her being a saintess like shes not very powerful or has any special powers except wings. anyways off topic but i am really looking forward to xukaiās new dramas ? and he has another one with wu jiayi i think, but i just really want a xukai bailu reunion T-T
spoilers ahead!
