not sure if i should post this in reviews simce its not technically a review, just my thoughts.. ok, just finished watching it and.. def deserves an award.. for the most love triangles HAHAH the ending was a bit ?????? :/ main complaint is, youlian is supposed to be a powerful saintess but her powers arent rlly that special and she rarely showed her saintess form but when she did, it wasnt anything special apart from wings.. and the scriptwriters seemed to forget she had wings most of the time smh anyways i did love this drama, made me laugh way more times i can count and also made me cry multiple times :) the actors in this drama was what kept me watching it, everyones acting was great, wu jiayi’s acting isnt as bad as many ppl make it out to be, she has conflicting emotions and shows them pretty well, but absolutely unforgiveable the amount of times she broke li xuans heart >:( lmao jk. xu kai’s acting was *chefs kiss* as usual, very cheesy but also very moving during emotional scenes, and he more or less carried the show,,, and props to the actor who played xiao fengmin! he did a real good job, also wanted to say i adore and would risk it all for changqing T-T wouldve done better with more episodes as things got interesting and then bam, end. spoilers from here onwards!
li xuan’s identity reveal was very anticlimactic, no one gave much of a reaction LMAO just wanna know why its called dance of sky empire? is kunwu in the sky? the only sky scenes where youlian talking to her annoying ass shifu, lmao they said youlian would die after her saintess mark is removed.. but im guessing she doesnt end up dying? for some reason, and then they travel back to the blood icebound ward place for some reason, how do they get out? was very unsatisfied with long wei’er’s ending, she revealed herself to her dad, her last sentence was ‘i got revenge but why dont i feel happy’????? why doesnt she feel happy? wheres her mother? and how exactly does the bath change her into a man? also i thought prince Mu died but at the end he was sitting in a bath with the kunwu doctor saying a painting of him would make a lot of money? how did that happen? ok. but i absolutely adore him, he wanted the best for youlian the whole way through despite the fact he knew she only cared for li xuan, and sacrificed so mcuh for her and his people, his selflessness really moved me and he was an absolute gem. he loved youlian but when she said she only had li xuan in her heart he still smiled a genuine smile and was happy that she was happy, 0 jealousy, HES SO PURE PLS he deserves the universe :(

ok I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID although li xuan is basically carrying this relationship because youlian has conflicting emotions and doesnt know what to do and shes hurt him multiple times :( they are cute together and the chemistry is there :) the scenes where li xuan protects youlian are so cute im, BUT li xuan and long wei’er, is it bad i kinda ship them haha
that part where li xuan knew only one person could leave the secret snowy realm or something (cant remember the name LMAO) and didnt tell youlian, his fake happiness for youlian’s sake before pushing her through the border and then the realisation in her eyes when she understands what hes done, i fr cried sm :( xu kai’s acting is always *chefs kiss* and his eyes and expressions are so... expressive, the smile through the pain while hugging her just broke me, his selflessness and love for youlian really reminds me of his character in arsenal military academy, loving someone so much and the other person not really realising just how much he cares ab them :( the purest ever ok sorry rant about how much i love xukai over

one of the best dramas ive ever watched wow, had me laughing until my stomach hurt but also had me sobbing my eyes out i am not being dramatic. had me hooked from the beginning, the bromance and the two female leads calling each other wifey etc, the serious storyline behind the humour. heard theres a season 2 in 2022 or sumn so im beyond happy ? the acting, the plot, the cast, chefs kiss ?? ? just when it’s getting serious wang wu or wang lu would make a joke or something ? i dont think wang lu and wang wu’s relationship was ‘forced’ i think they did have a lot of chemistry and although not necessarily romantic, their interactions did build on their chemistry and little actions showed how much they cared for each other to build up to the kiss at the end :) i am a lil confused as to what happened with xiaohai at the end tho and who killed his parents.. bittersweet ending i guess
omg xu kai and bailu and wi jinyyan and wu jiayi and liu min ??? such an amazing cast this is def gonna be a success when it comes out :)) missed seeing xukai and bailu together
