Oh my goodness... You really explained the most essential thing you know....I didn't describe much about the ending…
Thank you :" I had to say it out loud. Some people are not even trying to understand the message this show is conveying. They are still caught up in what teh did. The story runs deeper than that. It's not about what he did rather why that happened in the first place - the root cause.
I totally agree with you! Both ITSAY and IPYTM will always have a special place in my heart. Comparing these two will be like comparing apples and oranges! Personally I feel like one of the factors that made ITSAY what it is, is it's location too. It was all new to our eyes. Those Phuket streets, beaches, ferry rides - we got to experience something different and which elevated the story of ITSAY. On the other hand, IPYTM deals with something entirely different. In just 5 episodes they told the story so beautifully. It's amazing how till the 4th episode we all wanted the main characters to be separated and on the last ep, we couldn't help but rooting for them. The last ep was truely brilliant. The way they showed how much teh tried and his realization that Oh is the only one. I loved the fact that even after being with someone, who shared so many similarities ( which teh felt initially was the main reason behind his and Oh's growing differences), teh was still searching for Oh. While watching the last ep, I got the same feeling as ITSAY. IPYTM really showed us that looking for only similarities with your partner can't be the basis of a relationship. At the end the only thing that matters is with whom you really wanna be with despite all the differences and overcome those hardships together. It's that simple! It's wonderful how beautifully this series has portrayed that through teh's character. I feel like it was necessary to show teh falling for Jai ( which was not intentional rather situational) in order to put that message out there. Truely a phenomenal show!
PS: For those who dint want the characters to reunite, well they did break up and years passed by before they crossed each other's path again. Let's not forget y'all that this story isn't about two people falling in love in college. They had a long history. Their worlds are intertwined. Oh could truely move on and all he wanted for teh was happiness and success. To me that's the power of friendship and the deep connection they shared. Also, notice one thing that when they broke up, teh accepted Oh's decision and didn't try to be all clingy to get him back even though it broke him from inside. But years after when he saw Oh again, he really gave all he could to win him back, because this time he knew that it's him or no one. Such a beautiful story that makes my heart ache.
