Thankyou so much for leaving such a well thought out reply. I just read my own review and cringed a bit because of how rant-like it is x"D But in my defense, at the time I watched it I was very frustrated by the bundles of positive reviews it was getting and I just could not relate :D
I mean I really cited Kang Ma Roo and Baek Seung Jo as better examples of asshole characters "who have depth" up there. :") I must really be desperate and out of options cause everybody knows they pretty much suck too. LOL

Yeah the female lead is amazing in Kleun Cheewit. She's actually one of my favorite actresses. Albeit, she's too fogiving, in the drama but it's stills better than most slap/kiss.

I think you're talking about one of Kathlene. E. Woodwiss novels, she was the one who started these bodice rippers/ rapey romances a trend in American novels. Her work is absolutely ridiculous as far as I'm concerned.
I mean sure it's ok. People can like what they like but tbh I am going to be pretty damn judgemental about it if one thinks Kawee deserved his forgiveness and a happy end 'cause frankly no. He didn't. He was just an awful human being and he wasn't even close to redemption in the drama.
Yeah you got it right. I guess slap/kiss lakorns are a guilty pleasure for a lot of people for all the reasons you mentioned. Surprisingly, some lakorns even manage to portray that theme in a less disturbing way (tho really it is more or less all disturbing) but others like Sawang Biang are just plain horrible.

They're in the same college. She's a scholarship genius student and let's be honest, there's not much plot contribution from her at all. The show basically revolves around hyping the greatness of the hero and the heroine fawning on him. But let's agree to disagree. We both have our own opinions and hardly can change the other's :D

I can totally understand! I often get attacked for my unpopular opinions too but oh well a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do ^_^
