I have to politely but firmly disagree with you. You’re certainly free to stick to your opinion, but I think…
I rate this series closer to a 9 because of the small little details the MLs give us. I just finished and I agreed in what you wrote both for your original comment and in this 2nd one. This is my take overall...,.
Shuhe wanted so many things. At first, they were to live carefree and not be tied down from palace life, to have his Gege's love and understanding, and to have his relationship with Zi'ang as well as play the deceiving game of love. Shuhe was going to throw away theirand sacrifice himself to go talk to his brother, knowing his life will be taken. That is why Zi'ang knocked him out and took his place, for Zi'ang whole heartly loves and wants the best for Shuhe from day 1.
They've talked many times on if only they were only Shuhe and Zi'ang and not princes/kings/rulers of opposing nations, then they would travel the land and grow old together. In reality, Shuhe choose duty and he couldn't stand the fact that he was told he was being led around and used by Zi'ang. but come on, they both used and lied to each other, but more than anything I actually feel Shuhe was more shocked to learn Zi'ang was now the prince next in line for the throne, and the reality of how much harder it will be for them to be together played a bigger part in his denial to their relationship.
Zi'ang wanted only 2 things: to find his younger brother and for Shuhe to choose him. He always chooses Shuhe. 1st cup "my heaven and earth" like THIS MAN LOVES YOU SO MUCH, SHUHE!!!!!
That denial turned Zi'ang's love possessive. When Zi'ang told Shuhe the truth on how Shuhe had lost the people's will or when the people were the ones to open the gates shows of Zi'ang saving Shuhe again, this time from possible rebel. Zi'ang had saved Shuhe many times, but he couldn't save Shuhe from himself and his own guilt of not being a better prince, later ruler, and concluded the only way he can remain himself is "self-exit". I do also agree that he came to this conclusion after finding out Zi'ang did not have much time left and wanted Zi'ang to see him true to himself by "self-exiting". This way, Shuhe gets his revenge against Zi'ang for his brother and for his nation as he said in 1st person, but I also felt that this was also the only way he can also choose Zi'ang too all together as shown in at the ending.
THE ENDING was what I really needed. Without it the ending is really sad, and it makes Shuhe feel heartless to Zi'ang's love. After talking to the crown prince, he says "I'm also waiting for someone".... okay.... there are a few things that happens very fast here. - 1st, the crown prince wanting to be addressed as Gege by Shuhe meaning he want them to close. - 2nd, the crown prince stating he had been waiting for Shuhe for a long time to apologize and that he regrets. - 3rd, Shue stating that's all he wanted. - 4th when asked to walk and explore what lies ahead with the crown prince, Shuhe rejects it saying he's also waiting for "someone". the person whose arms he died in T^T - 5th, the crown prince don't think much about it and just casually walks away which also surprised Shuhe at how much crown prince had changed. and with crown prince saying and telling Shuhe "if I don't change i will only end up pushing away the very thing I desire". almost as if he no longer is obsessed with power, is now carefree, and as will as a reminder to Shuhe. - 6th, when asked who Shuhe is waiting for he walks up the to the the pear blossom.... man, i wished there were side notes of meanings from the translators like from Viki, cause i want to know if Zi'ang's name means "pear blossom or whatever. I just know that the pear blossom was one of their love symbols/signs... we all know who he wants to wait for and it looks like he was determined to wait no matter how long. but at that moment Shuhe FINAL CHOOSES Zi'ang T^T - 7th seeing Zi'ang walking over and calling Shuhe knowing that they can finally enjoy each other's company without anything in their way was so sweet. - 8th this also means that Zi'ang died in the story. - 9th Since Shuhe just opened the gate doors, entered, but since the doors did not close and Zi'ang walks in literally right after him, this shows that Zi'ang probably died right after Shuhe, I'm guessing from the heartache of Shuhe self-exiting. The image of him dying with Shuhe in his arms makes me tear up. I can only see him holding onto Shuhe as tightly as he can. T^T - 9th notice that both Shuhe and Zi'ang arrived at this gate to heaven/afterlife in their wedding robes <3 - 10th Zi'ang arrived with a ponytail, like how his hair used to be before his love was denied by Shuhe and before he became king of his nation. For me, this symbolizes his love for Shuhe had never changed.
I love the song at the end. Fav parts with it are the ending of the series and during their kiss scene in ep 7 with so many small details of their hand gestures. so sweet
Didnt know he got into acting. Ive only known of him because he i a very good dancer. He was in so you think you can fance china and auditioned with mongolian routines. Now, i need him as a mongolian in a drama
This might be late but I watched it on YouTube and the subs were good! I hope you get to finish it. It's a great…
Yes, I was desperate and continued watching from YouTube. The translation didn’t after side notes explaining more the details, but it was still good subtitles. I finished watching the series on YouTube and gosh, what a marvelous series this one was.
I was just watching this drama on Viki a couple months ago and was gonna continue it again, but I can no longer watch it on there. It says “this show is not available in your region”. I live in USA. This is so sad because we all know subbing teams in Viki are the best teams to rightfully translate slangs, riddles, and give us a back story to famous quotes in native tongue.
I also just checked and it looks like this drama series is currently on Amazon Prime. Does anyone know or has anyone watched this drama on Amazon? Are the subtitles there any good? And it looks like it’s also on YouTube too. How are the subs there?
So far I’ve only seen 2 of his works: The Palace and A Dream do Splendor, and I’d have to same that I love his acting. His eyes just lights up and voice is to die for. I was falling for 13th prince because the story got very emotional for the the ML & FL in there. So while watching A Dream of Splendor, I really appreciate Gu Qianfan’s dark side, his serious side, and his sweet and loving side.
Watched this without reading the synopsis, so my I enjoyed it. Can’t believe it is only 23 minutes long cause I felt like a got the whole 12+ episode series. Maybe even a season 2 relationship and character development from this when compared to other BL series out there. Would love to see this as its own series
I say that I’m a rarely new Onmyoji the game player for about 3 months now. At first I thought the other one was an adaption, but then I read the descriptions from my drama list and they are completely different. The other one is based on the novel and this one is based on the game. I love Seimei in the game so I’m looking forward to the handsome Chen Kun as Seimei. It’s gonna fine like a cosplay. Hahaha. Also, I love the actress Zhou Xun ever since I watch Ruyi’s royal love story. Both of them has a way with capturing you with their eyes and with their acting.
FIRST TIME THEY LET A GAY COUPLE BE AN ACTUAL COUPLE IM SO EDITED
I think New Year also auditioned for w moons season 1 too and was also discriminated. There’s a long history of it since at that time BothNY already are known in social media. He was one of the favored candidate and fans were looking forward to him playing Wayo, but nope. At the end the producers and director of 2 Moon just wants fame to hype up the series for views. They told him straight up that it was because of New Year’s sexuality and that he might make other casts “uncomfortable “. Why would they be when they are auditioning for a gay character? Don’t make sense to me and makes me mad.
Another funny thing is later for their promotion pictures Wayo was wearing a set of clothes New Year had (not sure if he wore this during his time of audition or he had post it). The pettiness and shame of the producer and director of 2 Moons. So fake. The only thing real was the chemistry between MingKit (KimCop).
So are they ever gonna get together? Like we’re 3 episodes to the end and they’re still just flirting? Why…
Felt your comment. GMMTV is lucky Earth is one hot and sexy man. They’re using him right with every shirtless scene and now we get a fully naked and proud Phupha too.
Their acting are good and their smexy scenes are cute. Mew's acting has improved so much from "WTD" and I'm so glad that in this series he was able to showcase his acting a lot. The character Tharn is sweet, caring, and understanding, but he is also strong hearted, calm, fair and just, knows what he wants, and at the same time he can be a flirt and teases his lover, he can be sexy and gives teasing eyes, and he can turn on/make his lover want him (by that I mean Type).
We get to see many sides Of Mew's acting in this series, but one of my favorite so far even when it was very said was his crying scene in ep 11. His acting breaks my heart. It looks and felt so real that I couldn't help and thought "this was what he felt with Art". And I especially love that before Type left he touches Tharn's face one last time. His eyes says that he don't want to leave his dearest, but he knows his heart is not strong enough and that it can't take anymore problems that may arise from Tharn's past
Love this movie. It has everything in it and I have nothing to change or add on to it. What made it so awesome besides the loving homosexual couples were the group of gay friends, especially the bar owner.
Okay, I don't understand the low ratings for this beautifully shot and heart felt movie. If you come for sweet BL you will not find it here. Instead you will find what true love and caring for your beloved really is. These middle aged men after being apart still finds their love again for each other and they treasure their time together. This movie needs more viewers. A bittersweet, but complete feel.
Got to say that i'm loving the actor Sapunpohng Anuchit, who plays Pich, more and more with each works of his. He really delivers emotions in his eyes.
A sweet BL with intimacy. At first I love how sweet AePete are, but then TinCan end up being my fav pair. I'm still loving Type(Earth) and his mysterious bf even when we have not seen him yet. Also, big thanks to Pond. He made me laughed and it was thanks to his perverted and nosy self that lead to AePete

Didn't he play Hack in Club Friday season 2 also?
