I'm surprised at the number of negative reviews - I actually enjoyed this drama. There is definitely strong chemistry between the leads and the fact of lots of different plots etc happening towards the 2nd half, once the romance is established, help to keep it interesting until the last episode. For me it was worth watching

As an epic, historical drama I enjoyed Jumong (although it's far too long). What it's not, as the title poster implies, is a romance. There is romance and in some ways very profound but it is not the focus, I think, and to imply it is, as the poster does, actually takes away from the enjoyment of the story as it creates false expectations. It's definitely a classic and worth watching for many reasons but not if you're wanting a love story.

Thank you for such a balanced review. My feelings exactly. If it weren't for those "bad" points (which I fully agree with) this would probably be one of my all-time favourites (loved the cooking/healing storyline) However, the FL nearly drove me to drop the series. Also would have been much better with fewer episodes.

One of the best modern c-dramas I've watched. Two of my favourite Chinese actor/actress were great. Loved their beautiful chemistry. Good pace, interesting storyline and even though you know how it will end, it's fun getting there.

I so agree with you. I nearly dropped it up to around ep 10 it was so cringe-worthy but stuck with it (jumping bits especially with the ajummas) and ended up enjoying it. Far too many episodes.

Absolutely agree with this review. The main cast, especially the leads make it watchable but towards the end the story drags on unnecessarily
