Not gonna lie, I dropped this numerous times, but kept trying to watch it because everyone kept raving about it everywhere, and yknow what, everyone was right! Once you get caught, you end up binge watching the entire thing. Expect to be bored out of your mind for 10ep at least, its mega slow burn. 9/10.
Drama dragged from ep 1. The ML was hot, the FL was a dull, plain Jane in looks as well as in personality (by todays standards). Was boring, dropped. Enjoyed My Sunshine, drama with similar plot, so much more than this. 10/10
I don't hate this drama but am dropping this early (ep10), because the general (ML) was a total SIMP, and I wanted to watch a series with a powerful ML. Why would writers write a ML like this?
In this series, the ML was suppose to be the best commander/fighter, a powerful alpha general who has never lost a battle, and yet he gets out smarted by the FL every single damn time, about everything lol, he even lost an important battle, because of her brilliant mind *eye roll* (his army had 100k soldiers, she had 8k and lost), how realistic. I get that we want FL's who arent doormats or dumb, but this show went overboard with this and made the ML seem as dumb as a rock. Also, you can tell this was a low budget drama, the series felt like it was made mostly in a studio using a green screen. The horse riding scenes are laughable with how fake it looked.
Pros: everyones gorgeous, theres a lot of romance right from the start and it seems to be the focus of the plot, ML is completely devoted to the FL (obsessed), and I appreciated the fast burn (he falls first almost instantly, and first kiss is at ep3). Loved seeing Wallace Chung!
Drama had a unique plot which I loved, but the execution was poor. It was too slow, dragged way too much, it was repetetive, and it had very little romance. Also, the FL didnt have sexual chemistry with any of the MLs, actually she had the most chemistry with the princess WTH.
I stopped watching, because why waste your time when there are so many wonderful period dramas like Goodbye my Princess, Empress Ki, etc, that hooks you from ep 1 til the end? If you enjoy political dramas with very, VERY minor romance, and slow burn that bores you to tears til the last 10 ep, then you might enjoy this.
Boring drama with terrible writing, its a rom-com thats not funny, draggy, and stupid-silly (FL is allergic to tears *eye roll*, so he's always trying to protect her so she doesnt cry *cringe*). I think all the positive reviews are from fans of this couple (TTEOTM was a masterpiece, this was shit honestly). Yes, the leads have really amazing chemistry, but thats the only thing going for this boring series. This show needed a better writer.
Amazing show the first half, after ep 22 I hated it. If you enjoy watching clingy DOORMAT who chases the toxic ML (who treats the FL like shit), or if you enjoy obsessed FL this is for you. She loved him way more than he did her, and she became his literal floormat who even at times stalked him like a loser. This show is just cringe for strong, self-respecting females.
Before ep 22 - 9/10 ( some parts dragged, great overall) After ep 22 = 2/10 (felt like they had new writers for the 2nd part)
Enjoyed My Sunshine, drama with similar plot, so much more than this. 10/10
