Recently, I started watching C-dramas, but I’m genuinely confused why so many of them seem to normalize borderline pedophilic dynamics. In both Hidden Love and Speed & Love, we have a 24-year-old male lead starting a relationship with a 19-year-old. To make it even worse, in both dramas the male leads knew the female leads since she was a child. But some dramas like this one are even worse — In this one the male lead develops feelings for the female lead when she’s only 20 while he’s already pushing 30. What business does a 30-year-old man have with a girl who has literally just become an adult? At least in some shows they acknowledge the age gap; here they pretend they’re the same age and treat each other like peers. I also don’t understand why the second male lead has such an arrogant attitude. Isn’t he supposed to be a fresh graduate? Yet he walks around acting like he owns the company. And I don't really get why the female lead is so obsessed with the second male lead — as if he’s the only handsome guy on the planet. There’s zero buildup — they like meet in their third year of college and suddenly she’s head-over-heels while he barely cares. It’s honestly very disappointing.I had high hopes for this drama
