the actual trailer looks juuuust fine they literally spent 50 billions on this, ppl really watch one teaser and…
I didn't even notice anything wrong with it?? I thought many of the shots were cool and beautiful.

I really dont have big hopes from it ..and its not because of CGI ..Its just doesn't click ..Teaser is boring…
I'm with you. I think LMH is talented and can be super compelling, but it was WDH who captivated me in the King. I didn't think it was his best work even if it was popular. And the trailer didn't show a ton of interaction between the two leads, I don't think it was a great trailer. But I honestly trust GHJ, she would have chemistry with a paper bag.

I'm kinda losing the intense interest I had in this drama. Still love the couple, the acting, and really love the use of the phone as a metaphor for communicating in relationships, and exploring secrets in relationships.

But the whole main mystery plot at this point feels too disconnected from the characters and their development--it's obvious HJ is not gonna care who he is, and SO also seems to not really care at this point about being the real son and will survive the fallout from the revelation. So I'm finding that I really don't care about the mystery.

For me the pull of the drama and the resolution wrapped up with her finally revealing herself as 406 and him forgiving her. Like, I don't wanna see some manufactured angst just so they can break up and get back together again.

no love triangle right?
There is a 2ML who has a longtime crush on the FL, but they're just friends, he's not really in it that much with her. Mostly that's just used to cause some jealousy in the ML, used mostly for laughs. The 2FL just kinda idolizes the ML as a sunbae, nothing romantic (which is actually kinda refreshing). But the 2ML and 2FL have their own plotline of researching together about a mysterious disappearance that ends up colliding with the main plot of the drama and the story between the two leads. There is some light romantic tension between them, but so far nothing has developed.

I heard this series was wrapped up a long time back. What is stopping them from bringing it on air ??
Netflix times their releases to optimize subscriptions. So they will try and spread out k dramas they think will pull in big audiences, to minimize people subscribing just to watch one or two shows and then cancelling.

I haven't ever seen Yoo Yeon Seok in a drama, and I heard everyone gushing about him and was like whatevs but daaaaaaaamn he sells every single moment of this story. Like he is INNIT. He is so magnetic and compelling. It's making me so invested. You can tell when a director has a great actor on his hands because he will use a lot of tight close ups and linger on expressions a long time. The camera loves YYS's face and every tiny expression on it.

Chae Soo Bin is also doing a great job, but I've always loved her so it's what I expected. YYS has been a wonderful surprise and I am obsessed w him now

Title The Trunk
The ending was your classic k drama cliche, such a shame because so much of the rest of the drama was mature and understated. The FLs actions make no sense, the writer as trying too hard to make it artsy I guess. Gong Yoo was a delight as usual, without him the show would have had no soul tho. At the end of it all I’m just left wondering what the point was.

Title The Trunk Spoiler
hey there - could you please spoil md (using the spoiler tag). Is this a happy ending for the leads? Do they end…
It’s an open ending. It’s kinda implied they will eventually end up together but they have a really sad breakup and don’t actually show them getting together

The people that I’m most jealous of rn are the ones that are waiting for this drama to finish airing before…
OMG. I wish I forgot it was airing, and could swoop in in February and binge.

ML really need to learn how to talk with girl. I know, he was probably a jerk to protect her (don't know why but…
I know, he is too arrogant in that way, he thinks that just because HE understands how much he loves her that is all that matters, and seems to think that she should somehow understand that too, but damn, he has caused all of this trouble by being an ass to her (I like him and his confidence, it's just part of his personality backfires in this respect)

Title When the Phone Rings Spoiler
Guys I am so obsessed with this drama, 3-4 were SO good.
They left it pretty open so I don't think he will realize she's the caller yet, just that she can speak, his reaction to seeing her on the phone is that she was talking to someone. I like that he is finding that out soon though! I really enjoy the theme of how both of them know the other better than the other thinks, but also do not know them as well as they think.

And yet this is his most lauded role for which he won the Baeksang for Best Actor.
My hot take is that without Yeo Jin Goo's stellar performance as the young version, he would not have been so appreciated for the drama. He did a good job, but YJG did so much work to set up the conflict and depth of the character and backstory, and KSH merely had to not mess it up after that.

it won't flop am 100 sure
You can tho, based on previous works. The screenwriter is a really great scene and character writer, really clever, but does struggle with the overall story arcs. The director is very solid tho, often that will be a better predictor because good directors are able to be picky about what scrips they work on. Based off that this has more than likely chance of being a quality drama AND a big hit too. So I'm hopeful!

I'm glad they're spending the money to make it look realistic and interesting for the setting, nothing is worse than cheesy sci fi effects in a show that's trying to be legit.

Also happy they've paid for top talent, I'm more excited about this pairing than I'd expect, I like LMH fine on the whole, think what he lacks as far as acting he makes up for with charisma, but GHJ is just hands down one of the best actresses in Korea right now and LMH tends to act up or down to the level of his leading lady. And something about this pair just screams sexy and mature. Plus a great screenwriter and director combo. I think this is gonna be a huge hit. I'm really excited for it.
