I started to watch this drama because I really wanted to see Dylan Xiong and Lai Yu Meng in another drama together because I liked their roles together in Pretty Man 2. Based on what I have watched so far in this drama, I think it is so repetitive like everyone has said. The same thing happens over and over again. The characters have not really developed in any sort of way in my opinion. They are still the same where A Yan is still an asshole and Xiao Meng is very vulnerable. I really would like to see some character development in the last 20 episodes of the series. This drama has pulled me in so many different directions and not the good ones either. I am not a particularly a huge fan of it because of the storyline being repetitive and not really developing. Well, it is developing, but in a very slow way. I think they could have made the drama less than 48 episodes and still gotten the message and story across. It is not a very interesting drama to me and I continuing to watch it because I want to see what is going to happen amidst all the chaos.
Overall so far, I would rate the story line as a 4/10. The cast as a 8/10. I do think the cast is good and has a lot of potential, but they story line and directors did not write out the storyline well. These ratings may or may not changes as the drama progresses, bit this is where I stand right now base don what I have seen so far. The acting is good, but I do wish they did not portray the main female lead as being a very weak person, who is not able stand up against the male lead who mistreats her in so many ways. I do not understand the writers made her character so timid, and weak. It is annoying because honestly, she should stand up for herself and not just take everything negative that comes to her. Also for the male character...does he have to be a damn jackass all the time time? I understand that is his character, but like seriously?! It is so boring, frustrating and annoying to see how he just blames her for everything without listening and then all of a suddenly cares for her "quietly."
UGH! I cannot describe how much this drama has made me so mad, annoyed and I do not think this would be a drama I would revisit or watch again after it ends.
