There are two layers of my points
One is FL character inconsistency for sympathizing with the culprit(2ML) who killed her lover in ep 29 30 despite the fact that she have been preparing for her whole life to avenge the death of her Da gege(ML).... He then took pity on someone who again caused the death of her lover with intense intimate eye contacts full of hesitation and regret for hurting the culprit..... Worst case is that she sided and went ahead and defended the culprit (2ML) over ML version of demon lord Zhao ming.
Secondly is there are many more screen time from ep 29 and above between FL and 2ML including in the flashbacks which then look more like a love story between FL and 2ML.. Ironically BUT ML is almost nonexistent in the romance circle except for the very few screen time where he only talk about the state affairs.. Is all about 2ML and FL...
But like I said this equals to love triangle and impure relationship between the main Couple for many fans who came here for pure romance.... But this damage is still minimal because the previous episodes prevails and we hope that from ep 34 onwards Will remedy this damages... So overall this middle clichés shouldn't stop you from watching, I'm only being honest by giving my review base on my Standard And Respect For Relationships in general.... And no matter what happened at last, I'm all here for the Main couple for their blissful moments and excellent chemistry which still lingers.

Currently there are toooo many screen time with FL and 2ML for some reasons from ep 29 and above... The ML version as XXC died but that doesn't mean the ML have totally disappeared from the story, the ML version of demon lord Zhao ming is still there..
This reason begs for the inconsistency of FL commitment towards her relationship with ML.. After the death of XXC version, there is no depth of emotions about FL Saddeness over her lost Love on the screen... This inconsistent-cliche was still OK with audience until the writer went on and push the forced marriage Cliche with 2ML and FL from ep 29 30 which left a huge scares on the purity of the main COUPLE relationship
Another big let down on the inconsistency is that the FL who have vowed and also been living all her life cultivating for supreme power only for the purpose of avenging ML(Da gege) in the previous life who was killed.... Suddenly ask the culprit (2ML) who killed her lover why he didn't dodge her stab during the forced marriage ceremony..... She was full of regret and sad in her emotion for hurting the culprit.... The FL of the past who is very bold with her determination to kill whoever responsible for her ML(Da gege) won't have such hesitations and sympathy on the enemy no matter who they are to her which again is character inconsistency.... To the point that not only she feels pity for him but also defended him over the demon version of ML ZM
We then expect the writer to remedy the damages done in ep 29 30 in the next episodes but then there is a flashback of the past which then showing more screen time with FL and 2ML in the past life...
With this continuous damages, the impurities of the main couple gets worst... There are many bleach and cliche for romance storytelling in the past life which includes:
. The first cake made by FL was giving to 2ML instead of ML. This gesture of love in Chinese culture was misused by the writer adding more holes in the purity of the couple.
. The first person who save FL wether in the heavenly alter or in the mortal realm was again the 2ML... The storyline of the flashback looks more like the love story between FL and 2ML...
Even though the writer wants to deceive us with FL constantly rejection of 2ML with her Constantntly telling him: I don't love you, I love only ML, I love only ML... This have been repeated countless times by her and I have lose counts of it... All this cliche and many interactions with 2ML begs for the purity of the main couple...
I started this show with no expectations and I loved it till my expectations grows deeply that I can't accept ep 29 to 34 Arcs for a pure romance... This is what it is because the main central plot was obviously romance storytelling and nothing more.. Wether is one side love of 2ML and "unrequited love", makes many fans tags this as love triangle because of the close interactions which almost equals to intimacy, It was intense and overused.
And more so many people who expected for a consistent pure romance was disappointed... I don't want to talk about the Annoying 2ML here because it will be a whole essay... We have been putting up with his annoying behavior because the FL was able to set clear boundaries right from ep 1 which makes everything less annoying and you can overlook his obsession cliche.... But with the later episodes fell out of this favour..... And the only one to blame is the writer who fails to keep the character consistency of the FL..
Of course all this I have said is a fact and also my standards in relationship and I see it doesn't bother many people here too, so it might not necessarily be anyone obstacles... Overall the is still a good watch even with this cliches and annoying 2ML.. All we expect in the later episode is the writer ability to remedy all this damage in a convincing way.

I didn't find any fault in TTEOTM and I love it and feel the romance Arc...
As for FoF; I dislike Fangs of Fortune not because of the romance part but because of a whole plot mess for me and some of the character's Hypocritical idiocy, including some character's over portraying of the self righteous elements leading to some of their Hypocritical behavior by betraying and killing of their love ones and friends in the name of self called justice... Ironically, but the romance wasn't even an issue in FoF, and I somewhat rooted for the 2ML in FoF though haha 😂 🤭
