thats ok aryllelric, your question was very resonable :) don't be scared to ask, this is a community to share thoughts in the first place right I hope i help with your curiosity
Weird, I figured they’d have the same actor. I guess between the manhua, we see him through his sister’s eyes…
For many who formed their initial impressions of "Hidden Love" through the drama might find it quite disappointing but the fact is the novel came first and I think a good respectful adapt should strive to remain as faithful to the original story as possible. What do you think?

The main reason is there are a lot of book enthusiasts regarding the casting of Sang Yan in "Hidden Love", mainly due to his lack of match to the book's description (ie. his height, look etc). I love your preceptive on it, you can think of the hidden love version of sang yan as a "brother" figure, she doesn't see her brother as "that handsome" (as well as many fans - felt he wasn't good-looking enough) but this drama will center around his love story, and according to the book, he is, in fact, quite handsome lol. To ensure the success of the adaptation, it would be a strategic decision to choose a more "attractive" and well-known male actor, or else it might negatively impact the reception of the drama, potentially disappointing many fans and undermining the essence of the story. Victor debuted as. a "rapper" on a variety show that i quite enjoy so it wouldn't be smart for such a popular project to cast a lead that doesn't match the qualification. The reality is, in romantic stories, having visually appealing leads is crucial to their success, especially when adapting from a widely popular novel or manhua, even more when portraying a charming character such as Sang Yan (or else it will come off oily). Think of it as our liking towards Victor comes from his loving brother image but could you imagine him being like Duan Jia Xu. The production should meet certain standards. Honestly from the start of the idea of hidden love being adapted into a drama, there was already a considerable amount of criticism. For instance, some find the portrayal of the characters' interactions, particularly when the female lead was young, to be "creepy" in a real-life context, as opposed to the more flirtatious/ cute tone presented in the book. I hope I'm making sense lol. Additionally, when the cast does not align with fans' expectations of beloved characters, it can lead to disappointment (although it is quite hard to match everyone's standards so the next best thing is to match the characteristics). For example, personally, I find the cast of the female lead in the adaptation of "Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun" to be unsatisfactory, so I won't be watching it which is a shame because i quite liked the manga.
it's complicated because they are going off a novel that the author only really had a few pages for (like 10 pages…
lol personally i thought the ML to choose is obvious. I liked story of Kunning palace, all the 3 ML are pretty good. Maybe you can give it a try. Lost You Forever’s FL didn’t appeal to me and yeaaa i saw the white dragon in spoiler a long time ago so when I knew he wasn’t getting chosen I can’t wait it ;-; Yes I quite like her character and how she portrayed it, the beginning’s relationship with her mom broke my heart.

not even Love Like The Galaxy lol? LLTG forever live in my heart. I didn't really like "Lost you forever" lol because I like 3ML Xiang Liu. SOKP was good too. I agree with you, she's really good at comedy sweet girl but this would be a interesting new role. Hoping the team does a good job because im still lowkey mad at how they handle the drama but ill just look pass it because i respect Lusi's decision. Also I think she made a good choice of not dropping this project because she had prepared for this for a while and she went through too much to just drop it for someone to take over. Hoping her next role to be a complex one too, like a cold hearted assassin or something lol. The project team is so important, i think thats why i like LLTG so much, the whole team was so talented despite being rush to push out the drama.
I quite like it, Its a new type of time travel story. The littlest daughter is super cute. What I don't like is it airs so slow with only 8-10 min per episode.
omg lusi's Weibo work team posted lusi's new photoshoot with her new short hair. She looks so pretty with the blue background and winter snow feel. It gives me a snow-white vibe. So pretty, as a isfp i love this aesthetic: https://weibo.com/7327934610/4975623881626454
He is quite tall and cute not sure his hair style yet but hope to see him in full costume I bet he definitely…
I agree. When I saw his photo, i thought he looked quite handsome. Also fun fact, he was one of the most popular suggestion by fan for the role of sang yan in hidden love. They think he matches the manhua version very well. https://weibo.com/6159487799/N0przzqon

the rumor is based around the original plot written by the author so there is a good chance it won't follow it ;) yeah i hope so too. this role is quite different from other roles lusi has acted in. Hoping the team is better at directing and script writing then with handling issues. I hope they don't waste lusi's effort and commitment.
Please correct me if i am wrong. But has anyone noticed and read the Story Summary above and the role name of…
it's complicated because they are going off a novel that the author only really had a few pages for (like 10 pages I think lol) she chose to put it on hold to work on her other popular novels. We won't know for sure until it comes out I suppose but the summary is correct, Yan Zi Jing is a cold-hearted businessman and he buys her. She just went from one prison to another as she continues to be a slave for him (which you can see in the reuter photos of them being on the boat) he seems to be not that nice to her at first so it might be an enemy to lover kind of thing. The video I saw described him as a "flower wrapped around poison" lol so he's more of a "grey" character, I think he has a tragic past. There are a lot of rumours that she will choose SML, which is rare to see honestly. Seeing how he is ML I'm sure they will still have a lot of moments so hopefully, whatever the outcome is I hope you will still enjoy the drama. Based on the official post, it will go from a story surrounding bandits (original) to a female lead growth story, so there's still a chance she ends up with LYN's character. Maybe when we see the story we will understand whoever she chooses, and like gladstone stated there were originally 3 ML, which would have been cool to see as that type of drama seems to be especially popular this year. haha.
Why am I not seeing more casts in the reteurs? like other support roles or so.
I think a big reason is the Reuter most likely have to go through great length to get picture so they would probably prefer to get picture of someone popular that will cause a discussion rather then unpopular or less popular support role actor/actress. I saw before that they take picture from really far using a camera lol. I’ll try to add any photo I see though ;)
almost as if she came out of a oil painting
