I have read through the chat and wanted to ask this. Wasn't the reason he did this in the first place because he felt suffocated in the marriage and that when he voiced his opinion, it was ignored. Yes, the method he took was wrong, but if had talked about it, would the FL have heard him?
I think not. At that stage, the FL was too absorbed in her own world and wasn't ready for anything else and wanted the ML to be in her world. She was ready to listen now and understand it because she wanted to know the reason. Would she have listened then? she would have coaxed the ML to continue the same because she wouldn't want the marriage to fail because of a reason like ML is miserable because of her.
