My post is really old, but I am surprisingly still around. haha 😂
I don't believe this drama was based on a novel. I remember doing research about it since I wanted a definitive answer and some closure with the series plot, but couldn't find anything unfortunately.
Finally I able to watch this.Action from beginning to the end.10, 10 10 !!Everyong did an excellent job.Hopong…
Totally agree! Don't I recognize you from years ago on Orange Biscuit's Youtube channel? Beloved Enemy and Guardian? Or maybe it was Adam Uni's channel with the HIStory shows...
Few questions if anyone can enlighten me please :- the hair demon said finally she was released, who released…
@pica For question five, there are a few theories:
1. He saw deep enough into the snake when it ate Shouyue and the Princess. He and Boya basically got a very good look before it ate them.
2. This was some sort of altered state of reality similar to the one in the painting that Qingming showed Boya earlier in the movie. So the rules for teleporting may not be the same in a situation like this. The scenes are quite similar, because Qingming is able to share his memories with her here just like he did with Boya in the painting.
3. When the snake consumed one of Qingming's spirit servants(The Mad Painter), the scroll he used to summon Mad Painter was probably able to be used as a visable window to see inside in the same fashion as the scroll he gave to Boya when he used it on him to rescue him from the tomb.
Another theory connected to this one is the Yin-Yang Master appears to share a mental connection with their spirit servants. So it's possible he saw inside of the snake through The Mad Painters eyes when he was swallowed.
also why did the princess release the snake to give he shou ye immortality just so she could kill him and herself?…
Actually, right before that scene Shouyue mentioned that the snake wasn't enough to reverse the effects of decay. There's a scene right as he absorbs the snake and starts healing where we see that he still has gray patches on his skin(and he looks concerned). So he was definitely still dying and could be killed. This was why he started causing the calamity, in order to gain more fears and desires from the people to boost the snake's power. Escaping the city would've meant obtaining its full power as Boya and Qing Ming mentioned. Shouyue was corrupted by the demon snake's power and The Princess could it. So it made sense that she would attempt to try and stop him before he would become unstoppable and destroy the world for her own desires like you mentioned. The sword served as a reminder of who she was and so did seeing the mother and kid in danger.
@CrescentMoon I've seen 20 episodes on WeTV. There are very heavy subtle hints of BL between the two male leads, as you would expect in bromance series like The Untamed, Guardian, Beloved Enemy. There are female characters as potential love interest to dissuade you, but that only seems present to conceal the BL, given that they don't actually appear to be ending up with either of the two male leads(you'll see if you watch). And then the latest episode appears to be hinting that one of the leads has a major crush on the other. Outside of that the series is so wholesome and fun. I've enjoyed it quite alot and would recommend.
Once again, if you are a BL protagonist, do not dare to be gullible, human, frail, do not ever dare to make a…
@Rahab75 Well said(on all of your points). It's one of the reasons I typically avoid the comment sections on this site. They're always so full of toxic, hateful and overly critical comments for just about every show I've watched. haha It mostly has to do with fan wars, so I wouldn't pay it any mind.
The dad confirmed in the first episode that they weren't(he told Bei Chen to pretend like Chu Yi was his younger brother). Bei Chen only speculated that Chu Yi was his real blood brother since he believed his father had an affair with Chu Yi's mother when he was young. And then there's a big story around if Chu Yi is related to them in episode 12 after Bei Chen's mother tells them they aren't related. And the DNA results Chu Yi obtains for himself confirm they are not related at all.
I'm not sure why most people are blaming Liang Ze for the relationship issues?
To me, it seemed like Hang Hang was too set in his ways, was extremely stubborn, temperamental, and was being the less mature of the two. Liang Ze clearly tried to make it work, but going total bottom for the rest of his life just didn't seem feasible to him(and I can guarantee you it wouldn't for most gay guys, let alone ones who start out identifying as straight). This was something that he tried to compromise to salvage their relationship, and if Hang Hang loved him so much, he should be willing to do the same. I get it, everyone has their sexual preferences and I'm not saying everyone should change that for their partner, but Hang Hang was still begging for a sexual relationship after all of this was made clear to him by Liang Ze. So on that front, he should've been willing to compromise, or at least make some effort to work something out there. Liang Ze knew he wouldn't, so he made it clear he only wanted friendship between them. That's honestly a very mature decision in my eyes, as it shows he tried everything to make their relationship work vs what Hang Hang did. Which was just yell "I'M THE TOP" in his limited macho scope of what being gay means. Trust me, relationships like these go a whole lot deeper(no pun intended XD ) than the typical top and bottom tropes.
Also, I really hated how not only the police, but his OWN family scolded Liang Ze for standing up to the sexual assault from his gym instructor... In what world is it bad for you to defend yourself from sexual assault? :/ Shame on all of them.
I did enjoy the show overall, and the ending felt very realistic to me, for of the reasons I mentioned above. I would've preferred a happy ending though, with Hang Hang coming to his senses and trying to work out some sort of compromise in the bedroom, but it is what it is. Lol They were cute together. Maybe I should read the novel...
I went back and watched Part 2 of Episode 2 again, because there were some comments about the fine line this show…
I agree. I think the key to remember here is at no point was this scene romanticized. That's actually what makes it so important to me, because Initially it wasn't even sexually driven. Type interpreted it that way(he had a nightmare about it in the first episode). Tharn got upset and restrained him because he insulted his father and tried to kick him. This did not look like a sexual advance to me. Restraining someone can be a way to physically lash out at them. It doesn't always imply that sexual advances or even sexual assault is being done. Speaking from experience, fathers for gay men can be a very touchy subject because there's this unspoken stigma that places a negative implication on them for their son being that way. So we tend to get super defensive when they're brought up like this.
Tharn then tried to calm him down with a sexual advance when he started to freak out. At this point Tharn has no clue that Type is triggered by sexual behavior. He assumed the physical assault is what frightened him before. So I think it's even more dangerous that some people are overlooking this aspect of the scene to conclude something that isn't really true. He stopped the physical assault when Type asked him to, and then he stopped the sexual advances when he realized he didn't want that either. Some are assuming ALL of it was sexually driven, when it wasn't.
Tharn has went a bit too far with all the kissing, but that was all for jokes. There was no intention of rape or to trigger his past trauma. He has no idea what Type has been through or what he's been triggering with his actions, and I think it's a bit unfair to demonize him without him first being made aware of that. The writer is stepping on a fine line, but I think it's being done with a decent amount of care... At least in my opinion. and so far anyway.
I'd also like to add that I don't think it's fair to demonize Type for behaving the way that he does toward Tharn either. Since he doesn't really understand the difference between gay people and sexual abusers at this point. Everyone deals with trauma in their own way, and while that's no excuse to treat an entire community of innocent people a certain way, It's a learning experience for him.
I don't know how I can continue after the atrocity that is episode 4. Whether he really did rape him or not, the…
Wait, didn't GQP do something like this to YY in the first two episodes? Sure, it was done in a more comedic fashion but he still did it. I don't think YY raped him. That was never implied, so I think it was changed from the Novel.
