In most romance Japanese dramas I've watched recently, the leads love to bicker and banter until they realize that it's not because they dislike each other, but they're feel the most comfortable when they're together. But in this drama, the leads are very kind to each other, they like each other, but there are walls (one of them is the employment contract itself) that make them feel not so comfortable with each other, still feel shy and awkward when they're together. I think that's why it's refreshing, I really enjoy watching the progress of their relationship. :)
I discovered this drama five years ago, and I've rewatched it for I don't know how many times since then. I just love everything in it...the quirky characters, the laid-back story, the comedy, the bittersweet feeling and how it always made me warm after watching it. :)
It's definetly not as powerful as the anime/manga. The cast and settings were good, but they cut some important elements from the original story. Some characters and their relationships are not well-developed and the tournaments are not so exciting. Can't blame the filmmakers though... because 114 minutes is just not enough to cover all the awesomeness of the original story.

I like how they use some random 'TV program' style when explaining things.
