And it's a constructive critism to the screenwriter because as many fans in China said it's a shame the screenwriter failed to make a classic for Wallace and Seven. Both are great actors so they deserve more.

That's a plot holes because family like their s would have someone on guard in the gate 24/7. And they were gone for a long time so it's hard to remain unnoticed. Also the falling in the water incident. Her reputation is already damaged if the script follows the etiquette in that era

No. That episode she ask her maid to go to master Jiang to sell her embroidery and she went to the harbor to look for boat for rent. Just her going out should not be allowed because back then if you're not married yet and your from a family with high status you can't easily go out. Especially with her because she was a candidate for marriage already

Most of it are at the earlier episodes. Like how Seven can go out and eat in a restaurant with daddi tang alone and not ruin her reputation. Most of the plot holes are practices that is considered not normal during that era but was shown in the series.

Yes the mil is irritating but not evil. Besides she's really thankful to Luo family because Yuan Niang and shiyi's grandfather help them plead to the emperor when they were imprisoned. And at the time when they are really down its the Luo family who only accept them and married their oldest legal born daughter to their family.

I don't think the mil is that evil. They owe their lives to the Luo family that's why she have affection towards Luo family.

Actually if you watch carefully the ml has the last say. For example in episode 12 when the FL was sent out to due to the zodiac incompatibility with Danyang. The ml was mad and the mother in law was just quiet when he said he'll pick up the FL from Luo mansion.
Then in episode 14 he said he wants FL to take care of Zhu the mother in law was unable to stop him again.

With regards to why the FL was still put into house arrest, it's actually the FL strategy so Qiao would lower down her defense so she can investigate what causes the sickness of zhun. But if the FL didn't agreed I'm sure mil would be silenced again by the ML.

The FL would just marry the ML because it was the dying wish of the first wife. So she can make sure someone would take care of his son. The first wife is the daughter of the main wife of Luo while FL is concubine's daughter.
