Yes it does! I love the older versions of them equally if not more. Older ML especially, he was phenomenal.

What an actor!! I loved all four main performances in When life gives you tangerines but I connected with him the most. He made me cry ugly tears at the end. His portrayal of Gwan Sik is one the best in kdrama history.

Reply 1988 has been the gold standard kdrama for me for years. Ive rated many dramas 10/10 but nothing has come close to surpassing that until this drama. This is now my all time #1 drama.

One of the best dramas ever made. For me this belongs in the same category as Reply 1988 and 2521.

I really admire him for taking up that role. His role had a huge impact regardless of screen time. People will talk about, “When life gives you tangerines” for years to come. And of course all four main actors in the drama are a big reason why it’s so great.

I was fast forwarding every time he appeared on the screen at one point. He was getting on my nerves.

I mean they share the same characters. Sang Yan has a pretty big role in Hidden Love, more than Sang Zhi and Jia Xu in First Frost anyways. Other than that I don’t recall anything else. Maybe time for a hidden love rewatch lol

What an amazing drama! Im more of a kdrama person, modern Chinese romance dramas just didn’t appeal to me. But this drama and Hidden Love just blew me away. This drama is even better than Hidden Love. It’s one of the best romance dramas period.

This drama is unexpectedly awesome. It’s got everything you need from a drama. A total package.

I mean we already know they end up together. Most likely we’ll see both of them die of old age or something. I don’t see how this will have a straight up sad ending.

Ae Sun and Gwan Sik are already my favorite kdrama couple of all time. I can’t wait to see how the rest of their story unfolds. Also 7.7 rating is just ridiculous, it’s a 10/10 drama so far.

I agree. I was expecting a rehash of Our Beloved Summer, maybe others were too. This story is so much more nuanced and deeper. I absolutely love this drama, more so than our beloved summer.

This drama deserves a much better rating. I had high expectations as someone who liked Our Beloved Summer and it did not disappoint.

Everyone has their preferences. I enjoyed this way more than Twinkling Watermelon.
