First, rain scene. From that moment Li Rong stop to always mention PWX with QZZ. She knows PWX not consider QZZ in terms of love. Second, butterfly gorge scene. After that moment Li Rong thinks hard about her own feelings and ask PWX wait for her. She sneaking out from her bed at night only to look for PWX to be back with her and sleep together. Third, boat scene. After this Li Rong reassure PWX that she is not choose power over him. She cares him, fall for him, want to have children with him.

This is historical palace drama. Not xianxia so nothing like fairies living for thousands years. Not wuxia so nothing like fictional martial arts with super power abilities. This almost the same with The Double but palace intrigue take bigger part. However the genre is a bit different

The Double is more revenge drama, romance not take a big part in it. The vibes is darker, the pace is faster. On the other hand The Princess Royal is about palace political intrigue, second chance in life & love, a redemption which romance take big part in it.

There is no intention for comparing because I love both dramas

I hate SRQ until I can't imagine him as ML in his future drama. I'm sorry Chen He Yi, but this means you successfully portray the hateful character SRQ.

This is a different experience when I watch Zhang Ling He as SML in LBFaD or Wang Xing Yue as SML in SOKP. At that time I wished they would have another drama in the future with FL (as male lead of course)

3 person certainly rebirth : Li Rong, Pei Wen Xuan, Su Rong Qing. Other novel readers said Li Chuan doesn't. Sorry I might wrong understood while reading that I write Li Chuan too in the summary 😅

I love this too and this come right after Pei Wen Xuan the night before said in his head "What I’ve been longing for, missing, and yearning for is the feeling of home."

Can't waitt for 16&17. Finallyyyy LR can see different value between her and SRQ. Power for LR is for the the world of justice and fairness while SRQ thought fairness is too precious and luxurious. His family and noble family still gonna be what SRQ's value most. I think from that moment will be the end for SRQ as PWX's love rival. LR wouldn't see him the same as before and as the past.

At first, I don't like when PWX give advice for LR to take a look for SRQ that he might not be her killer and for LR to really understand her feelings. It really backfire him that he always jealous. But now, I like it when LR can find herself that SRQ isn't a good man. Next step is for LR to understand her own heart that actually no matter in the past or in this second life, her heart always be for PWX only. She just not realize it yet.

I always wonder if that disclaimer is enough... Will be glad if it is, so don't need to make a whole drama only a dream at the most end or only a novel by some author

I have a question for someone who knows Chinese characters. Does 'Li' from Jiang Li and 'Li' from Xue Li have the same Chinese character? Or at least the same pinyin intonation?

So, when Duke Su calls her A Li, it might be the same for Jiang Li and Xue Li because he knows she is actually XFF aka Xue Li.

Yes, in previous life PWX and LR's lives were all misunderstandings, starting from PWX feeling responsible for always helping QZZ and not bother to explain it to LR. @ChocolateBrownie, if you want to know more about QZZ...

In the previous life, because of political arrangements, LiChuan as Crown Prince married 5 wives – 1 Crown Princess from the Shangguan family (Shang Guan Ya) and 4 concubines. QZZ is one of the concubines. Shangguan family was the strongest aristocratic family since 3 generation Empress was from Shangguan family. However, LiChuan never loves SGY and other concubines. He only loves QZZ. This really brings disaster.

After rebirth, LiChuan refuses married arrangement and LR supports him. Something bad happens to Qin family. Qin's family has been slaughtered. QZZ manages to escape and LR promises to help her to seek justice. QZZ has high martial arts. QZZ agrees to pretend dead, change her name, and after Qin family matter finish she will go to the north, with Qin Lin raising the army there. LR gave her a new name: XunChuan. QZZ is very loyal to LR. At the end part of the novel, it’s she who comes to HuaJing with the army from north, and with LiChuan breaks into the palace. And also her who shot CR's head before CR could stab LR. When LR is already Princess Regent and before QZZ goes back to the north, LR gives her an official letter which to give QZZ's real name back so she doesn’t need to live as someone else. When LiChuan goes to the north LR asks QZZ to arrange everything for LiChuan. In 7th year when LiChuan came back bring his wife and son, LiChuan's wife is QZZ. So, everything comes to be very very much beautiful in this lifetime.

Some tidbits from the novel :
(I'm not used to retelling story and English is not my first language, so pardon me and bear with my long post).

- Li Rong and Pei WenXuan rebirth, remarried, and became allies. They promise they will be divorced after they get what they want, i.e. power.
- It can be seen that LR & PWX love each other no matter in previous life or now. It is just they do not realize it plus miscommunication.
- After remarried LR stated that their relationship was a close friend. They sleep on the same bed. For LR, it would be too much trouble if PWX slept on the floor and he needed to tidy it in the morning. While PWX takes it like he just needs to take a cold shower.
- I don't know what happened in the middle, but they indeed divorced. They live in a separate house.
- Although divorced, I think it is only status because their love for each other is stronger. They took turns sneaking into each other's houses to chat and plan their moves. And at night they kiss and sometimes sleep together.
- Their relationship is very brilliant at this point. They trusted & knew each other brains, planned together, teased each other, and fought side by side. And it is so sweet how PWX always puts LR above every single thing.
- The start of the climax was in the winter hunt. Consort Rou planned to kill Crown Prince Li Chuan (LR's brother) while LR planned to kill Li Cheng (Consort Rou's son and the only Emperor's other son besides Crown Prince). FYI, at this time the Emperor is more on Li Cheng's side. Consort Rou is a favored concubine despite her low status.
- Short, both of them are still alive but Li Cheng is in critical, dying.
- At the same time, LR finally learns the truth behind her death in her previous life. She broke down to disgusted truth as everyone betrayed and killed her. All is her nearest when she has done so much for them. Only PWX trusted and knew her completely.
- The way PWX calmed LR after and their heart-to-heart conversation on the bed was really on another level. I can't describe it in detail, only wish the drama team would include this part of the novel.
- Basically, after this was the fight for the throne and also the fight inside LR about whether she will trust again her nearest who has killed her in her previous life. In this life, they haven't done any bad. PWX calms her and says that this may be a new world after all.
- Then happy news about LR's pregnancy. But, they keep low on this news because of the situation and because of their divorced status.
- First, LR wants to escape the city, while inside is in chaos. But, in the middle, she hears that Consort Rou & Su RongQing (FYI, LR had a special relationship with SRQ in her previous life but in the end SRQ betrayed her) want to rebel so she decides back to the city, enters the palace.
- The Emperor was in bad health (CR poisoned him slowly before). The plan was CR & SRQ to wait for Li Chuan to kill the Emperor then they would enter the palace blame him, dethrone him, and make a way for LiCheng to take the throne (although at that time LiCheng was already dead and the one with them is the fake one)
- LR entered the palace and sent LiChuan and their mother out of the city. The previous LR may have killed the Emperor, but now she does not want to. She just chatted with him to buy some time. Outside of the city, LiChuan waits for northwest troops to squeeze back in.
- In the morning CR, SRQ & other ministers rush to the court hall. They ask about the absence of the Emperor and accuse LiChuan killed the Emperor. But LR said it was not true since LiChuan was not in the palace and the Emperor was still alive, recuperating.
- When LR thought she was all alone facing CR, SRQ, and their companion, suddenly PWX came, alone. PWX already made hostage all of SRQ & his companion families in LR's residence in order to break into the guarded palace. He said to LR, that he was ready to die with her or bring her home. Wow, this is really cool for me.
- In short, LiChuan managed to break into the palace with troops. CR almost killed the Emperor to get the imperial stamp. LR & LiChuan managed to came to Emperor's room from the court hall before the Emperor died.
- When CR wanted to stab LR, LR's guard managed to shoot her head and CR died. SRQ runs and PWX chases him.
- PWX and SRQ battle each other in Wei Yang Palace and in the end SRQ hurt, PWX burns Wei Yang Palace so everyone thinks SRQ is dead.
- The Emperor is finally dead while LiChuan is at his bedside. LiChuan ascends the throne as Emperor but he chooses to not show up at the court. LiChuan did not want to repeat his mistake in his previous life when he became Emperor but had to kill LR - his own sister. This time he wants LR to become Princess Regent and manage the court. PWX became the Right Prime Minister
- PWX remarried LR with the grand wedding. LR gave birth to a Princess, named LiXi. LiChuan gave Li surname because he adored her so much
- In 3rd year, LiChuan told LR that he wanted to go north, he wanted to see the tribe, and the border. After fighting for a while with his sister, he finally leaves to the North
- In 4th year, LR gave birth to a son, named Pei QingYun
- In 7th year, LiChuan came back with his wife and son. He gave LR northern territory maps. But when LR asks him to let his son stay in the palace, he does not want to. He said that he is afraid someday they will fight with LR and feels that a free life out there is more suitable for him
- In 14th year, LiChuan abdicated and passed the throne to LR. LR became the first Empress of DaXia. Then, LR appointed Princess LiXi as the heir apparent.
- On the day of LiXi's coronation, LR received a gift. The gift was southern territory maps with the river management plan to control floods. There was no name of the sender but from the hand-writting she knew, SRQ.
- WeiYang Palace actually has a secret exit. At that time, PWX left medicine and deliberately burned the palace, giving SRQ a way out.
- LR and PWX's relationship is just like that, they often quarrel until LiXi says to her brother "Since I was born, how many divorce letters have they written? Don't worry they will not be separated." They only cultivating their relationship.
- Finally, the last sentence from the novel. "Some love transcends mountains and rivers, some love transcends time, and some love transcends life and faith, tempered thousands of times, never to be separated. "

I finish reading some parts of the novel. I'm very excited after watching wrap up video and curious about the story so I started to look for the novel. I’m not too a novel reader actually and 169+2 chapters are honestly just too much for me. So, I read dozens of chapters after they remarried then moved to about the second half towards the end. Overall, it’s an outstanding story and I can’t wait for drama. Hopefully, it will be smooth for post-production, including the rebirth theme to pass censorship. Below are some tidbits from the novel. BE CAREFUL not to open it if you don’t want any novel spoilers.
