Oh I see what they did there. I can’t help but compare the ML’s. I love Joy Of Life and I understand ZRY is just a support role in this drama but GQL doesn’t quite live up to my expectations after watching JOL. For me the plots are too similar to enjoy this drama fully without expecting the cliche. I am excited and hope JOL2 will be out soon! I will go on to watch this with lower expectations though.
I rate dramas as a whole, from beginning to end. I see people here begging not to give this drama a lower rating because of the ending. The ending can make or break a drama, it doesn't have to be a happy ending but it has to be an ending with closer and satisfaction. With that said I dropped the rating from 9.5 to 8.5.
SHS is a superb actress, one of my favorite . I can tell from her expression when she is playing SY or BH. Her facial expression was on point the entire drama. I don't agree that this was a BL drama. The king fell in love with BH's persona without knowing it was actually a dudes soul inside the queen. BH knew everything and I believe he fell in love with the king psychologically but he was in a woman's body. I also believe SY had some control while BH was in there, when BH's spirit left her, she remembered everything.
We all knew how this would play out, with two scenarios. One was his soul merging with the queen's for good. That would be our own selfish desire . Does BH deserve to be in a coma forever or SY's body being used by BH for good? No they don't. The writer chose the second route which could have been played out better. BH literally left when they were both dying on the ground, like WTH... couldn't he leave after the battle was won and they both stood near the lake looking lovingly into each other's eyes for ONE last moment! I fell in love with BH, not SY. Like girl, where you come from, move along, get outta there, LOL. Now I'm also a selfish person and a hard critic on dramas. The ending did mess with my emotions a bit, not gonna lie. So Mr. Queen you get an 8.5 from me with one point dropped for dismissing my BH.
FL's acting is really pathetic, I cannot believe rowoon's acting is better than hers. She is supposed to be the…
I've actually seen her in other dramas, "Melting Me Softly" and "Just Between Lovers". Both dramas were a flop for me because of the bad writing and her bad acting. I thought she would get better with the right roles, maybe, but it's definitely not this drama. I dropped this after episode 3.
This is a drama I can finish or drop without a miss. I don't like it but it I don't dislike it. It's not good but it's not bad either. The chemistry between the main leads is one thing I don't particularly care for in this drama.
My pet peeve.... People writing reviews when the drama is still airing, It irks me! You've seen 9/40 episodes and you can give a full perspective on the drama, SMH.
I'm kinda confused.. Are they the same person (i.e. in his past life, he was a woman)? In the latest episode,…
BSM's (chef) soul went into the queens body when she tried to kill herself by drowning while BSM is in a coma. The queens character/personality is mainly BSM but with the queens past memories, she still somewhat has physical control. It's hard to say whose in charge inside the queen, I'd like to think it's 50/50.
After 4 episodes I have to say I want to slap everyone in this drama! Seriously everyone is so dumb especially the writer. This drama reminds me of that other horrible drama "VIP", getting horrible flashbacks. Definitely a DROP for me.
I am probably the odd one out here. It's personally hard for me to relate to any of these characters. I see the FL as a coward, ML as obsessive, then there's the drunken fool, the cute long term couple, and roommate/friend zoned. I will wait for this to finish airing and fast forward the rest on 1.5 speed on Netflix.
I stopped watching at episode 8, it all became repetitive, going around in circles with the 3 of them. I ship LSH and HSJ, hope they clear up the misunderstanding of their friends death. JK is annoying imo, she's not even ugly! I just don't find her interesting in the slightest.
I've been stuck on episode 2 for several days now, the plot is messy and confusing. I honestly still don't know what is going on. There are so many characters thrown in at once, hard to keep up. It's so hard to concentrate on this drama.
