Off Topic While looking at the Recommendations here, I just realized that Lee Sung Jae's last drama "Show Window, The Queen's house" (which I watched because I like Jeon So Min) also had a similar plot. About Infidelity and Betrayal between Friends. Like SJH, I was also shocked at JSM that she can portray such role.
I must admit Episode 16 was frustrating. With 4 more episodes, the writer probably ran out of ideas. I don't think I will watch any of her series again. Not wishing for happy ending at this point but just some redemption for EK.
I am still waiting for Lee Sang Woo's character to shine and wow me as CW. Hong Soo Hyun owned Episode 15 as BD. CW so far is either a henpecked or wimpy so I feel like LSW is underutilized in Red Balloon. He is a good actor.
Definition of a Psycho β The definition of a psycho is slang for a crazy or insane person. An obsessed stalker who threatens to kill his ex-lover is an example of someone who is psychoβ https://www.yourdictionary.com/psycho
EK does not have Murder tendencies No! EK is not a Psycho
There is no big villain for me. They all have their own shortcomings but in my eyes EK is the worst. She is evil…
No proper meaning for EK to live? Yes she is cheater but not a murderer. Even murderers are given parole/pardon and the chance to live and repent. Of course there is no way for BD to forgive EK Suffering is enough for me to realize the consequences of her actions.
Very Intense Episode It is called Makjang for a reason
EK ended her affair with CW "Let's end it" But it was too late.
Bada found out about the affair EK will suffer long and hard.
No wonder actor Seol Jung Hwan/Tae Gi posted Regret, Reflection, Understanding and Forgiveness for Episode 20 script. Maybe that is what the writer wants to convey is this drama.
Episode 12 was a Nail Biter episode. That scene of the Jo Family at the Go's House.
I would not exactly call EK a psycho. To me psychos have criminal/murder tendencies, That is not EK. I would rather call her a "damaged person". As her actions and behaviors were triggered by her failure(failure to be a licensed teacher, losing her first love to BD, not getting married as planned, treated badly by her ex-BF). What irks me are the bad decisions she has been doing. When she got rid of Tae Gi and finally focusing on studying for her teacher exams, I thought it was the start of her getting her act together. But it was not. I do not want EK to end up with CW. She deserves better. I don't know what the writer's plan is for her character but I am guessing all her plans will hurt her or her family along the way. I am convinced EK will not get a happy ending. That's ok with me for as long as she turns her life around for the better.
Also, even with SJH effectively playing the evil EK, I still cannot afford to hate her.
Good job on that alternative ending plot π
For now I am just happy for EK
Please give me my moment of happiness π
Her family being happy for her teared me up.
Fingers crossed for that

I continue to be hopeful for EK though

But not enough reason for wishing EK to die.
Thatβs too much

Yes she has wronged BD.
But you wishing for her to die is just too harsh.
True.
Kind of the same
But I donβt think EK would end up with murder though. Lol

She snapped and gone mad.
Unfortunately the Go family became the target of her insanity.
