lmao the men mad in the comments can stay mad, this is the highest rated movie of 2024 on douban in china and…
I'm halfway thru and I'm stunned this wasn't considered for a series. I knew the female leads from SHE AND HER GIRLS and IMPERFECT VICTIM. if you haven't seen those, you'll love both of them.
NEED HELPFor those who've seen this series, I have some questions below --
1. I see in the credits there are some voice actors getting credits. But for whom? Is everybody VO'd, or just a few people (like the Lady in Red) who may not be a strong an actress as she is pretty?
2. Our male lead's master is almost killed. Then another actor who looks and sounds something like him appears and is quickly written out of the story. Was this a replacement actor and do we have a feeling he was minimized or written out? (I'm at Ep 24 and don't know if he returns.)
3. FL carefully removes items from Blue Eye's head. The show makes a big deal about this. But then his master does it again -- and quickly. Huh?

Completed. Very good series, which I recommend pairing with a chilly winter. My wife and I loved watching this sipping tea under fleece blankets, lol.
Viewers may resent that the LOVE ON banner flies on iQiyi for this series, and yet it's more Shakespeare than Disney. Now that you know this, it's otherwise a great love story where one poor girl can't help loving more than one man.
They do not. There is only one couple in this story, but it's not why you watch this series. And this is high…
By the way, I watched something called FORTUNE WRITER which is a very short series of short length episodes. I knew Daisy Li but not the ML. It felt like a practice series but there romance was great if you like romances. Soon they will be in a REAL show and we fans can't wait.
I'm a Westerner in the US. I'm watching this show now and when done I'll have completed 20 Chinese series since Covid -- when I desperately needed new programming. I wouldn't have watched this many if laced with annoying propaganda. I was actually surprised at how little -- if any -- there is.
What I've noticed --
1. There are lots of shows aimed at the young which say, hey, if you just work hard in school and pick a career -- you'll be rich and end up with nice clothes and living quarters. That it's super easy. (Yeeeeaaaahhh riiiiight) But then that's in America too, where one of the biggest hit shows (FRIENDS) suggested a bunch of young people could live in NYC in a huge apartment for nothing. (Wrong!)
2. More than once I've seen the message that IF WE SACRIFICE AND WORK TOGETHER THINGS WILL ALL WORK OUT. This show screams that message. But then I ask what's wrong with the message ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL? In America these days it's EVERY FASCIST FOR HIMSELF.
3. I've been stunned at how little Western bashing their is -- which is next to nothing.
4. The most 'preachy' moment I've noticed in all these series is here in SHE, where our lead kinda took a swipe at transgenderism and basically suggested it's not a thing. The message was directed at a girl who was strapping in her chest. She was told she's a girl, deal with it, stop strapping yourself in -- and if she feels boyish and wants to live more boyish, fine -- but don't get carried away. In America this message is verbotten and so I'm wondering who is brainwashing who.

I disagree, because I know of two shows she helped me find that I prefer.
TO THE WONDER was my Best Drama of 2024, but to be fair it only had like 8 episodes and so really it's like the Best Long Movie of the year.
I haven't completed SHE yet, but I really liked THE TALE OF ROSE. Like A LOT. I sense these two will tie for second.
"A drama, such as a play, film, or television program, characterized by exaggerated emotions, stereotypical characters, and interpersonal conflicts."
I don't mind melodrama if it's properly disguised. When it's not, a proper C-Drama trope is the hospital scene, where melodrama is free and easy.
