This movie is super gooooodd! I have to agree to one of the reviews that the ending is a bit lacking. But overall, the acting, story, and music is super good. The only downside is I had to pay $10 to rent this movie for 5 days which is a bit expensive.
I agree with one comment below that this show is a bit overrated. I don't know, I'm watching a Filipino BL, but…
1. I won't even engage people who attack my socio economic status. So what if I'm from class D or E? Who cares? No one should use socio economic status as an insult. It just shows the kind of person you are.
2. I know what code switching is. I am a Filipino myself. I grew up in Southern Tagalog region and attended uni/worked in Metro Manila. Vlad is probably code switching in some of the dialogues, but most of the time, Karl is speaking to him in Tagalog, and Vlad will reply in full straight English sentences. If you do that to me irl, I will find you rude. I agree with one comment below that Vlad is someone from affluent background, that's why he speaks that way. This is also why I don't enjoy watching LizQuen and James Reid's films. They just don't connect to me as a Filipino.
3. I won't compare this to the other Filipino BL's that came out because it's not healthy and it does not add value to this conversation. Except for Sakristan. Sakristan is trash, we should not support that paedophile director.
4. I don't know why is anyone is stanning ate Judit at this point of the show. She makes me so uncomfortable as someone who grew up as a gay kid in the mid-late 90's. She's the kind of straight people who poses as an ally, but in reality, she's homophobic herself. I hope she redeems herself later, but for now, I don't like her character.
5. These are all my opinion as a consumer of this show. This show might be your cup of tea, but not for others. You don't see me attacking good comments in the replies.
I agree with one comment below that this show is a bit overrated. I don't know, I'm watching a Filipino BL, but the number of English dialogues is just too much for me. I feel disconnected because I am watching a Filipino drama, but this is not how we converse on a daily basis. There is no reason to answer in English if someone is talking to you in Tagalog. Also, i know she does it on purpose, but ate Judit's fake Aussie/Kiwi accent is annoying. I still enjoy the show, for me, it's a 7.5-8 at this point.
What was posted in Wattpad is way different from the series. I guess they had to change it because of restrictions…
Where did you get this info? Have you read the Wattpad story? It was clearly told there that they first met when Vlad mistakenly knocked at Karl's apartment and Vlad thought Karl was someone else so he kissed him. They then met again at the University Film org where Vlad is an upperclassman. Clearly, they made changes to the story to adapt to filming restrictions in the PH.
I don't mind the story, I'm just so distracted with Karl's makeup. He's a good looking guy, why did they put too much makeup on him? He's at home in his lounge clothes and still wearing full on make up.
