You seem to resent China. You should know that every culture is different from ours. Don't expect them to adapt only to you. Especially when you, as a foreign consumer, are landing on their series and movies. In real life, folks are idiots normally and get into misunderstandings, why should it be any different in fiction? You need to face reality, your brain will thank you.

As long as you continue to expect that women should only be kind, nice, understanding and morally correct beings, your internalized misogyny will continue to make you believe that the behavior of the female characters is the problem that prevents you from watching a series. It always makes me laugh that you guys can't stand to see a woman being arrogant/temperamental, but you can stand a man who has the same personality or even worse. I bet if the male lead had done what bothered you in the female lead, you wouldn't have made any complaints. You would have patiently waited for him to develop as a character, right?
The comments make me laugh. They don't like romances where the woman is older, but they do when it's the other way around. Their casual misogyny makes them make unconscious choices. Even if the series is good, they will give it a bad rating because they can only see women as potential mothers, and not as beings that deserve the same social treatment as men. And don't give me the narrative that it's personal preference, because you know perfectly well that it's not true.
