both Naksu and Jin Bu Yeon are inhabited in a single body however when Jin Mu performed the Spell, he basically corrupted Naksu's soul, the one in controlled of the body and eventually led her to a rampage when she throw herself into the lake, i presume the lake cleanse Naksu's Soul and due to the damage cause by Jin Mu's Spell, the lake decided to create a new body and that is Naksu's original body and to save Naksu's soul they have to merged with Bu Yeon's soul to create a single soul and that's how the current Bu Yeon aka Naksu come into existence.

i think the reason why she's able to sense the Ice Stone Energy because Bu Yeon's soul still reside in her original body where Naksu who were currently in controlled of (basically one body two souls situation), during the last episode or 2 in season 1, you can see Mu Deok started to remember stuff but it's not a memory of Naksu's but a memory of Bu Yeon's including calling the Jin Matriarch "Mother".

this is where my theory came in, when Bu Yeon's original body had died, the lake somehow created a new body which is the original body of Naksu and eventually the two souls would inhabited this new body and soon after the two soul would merged into a single entity and this is the reason why she lost her memory and according to the preview of EP 2, she doesn't remember anything for the last 3 years, that's because her soul is a new being created from the merging of Nuksu's Soul and Jin Bu Yeon's Soul.

i think somehow Naksu's and Jin Bu Yeon's soul merged to become a single soul, she is Naksu but she's also Jin Bu Yeon.
