Me too so I was trying 'My Fair Lady' just to see Qu Chu Xiao in a more smiley role. At least in Episode 1, he was this happy, cheekily smiling character which was great. I'm thinking if its worth continuing the drama as the subs on iQiyi are really dismal and reviews were not that great.

I went to listen to both songs again and I'm undecided. I think I'm just lousy with my ears (not musically trained or talented). All in all, I just hope everything is alright with all the songs. I'll be so sad if any of the songs is hit with any copycat charge.

I certainly hope so they did everything legally right. If not, as the drama gains more traction, people will come with pitchforks to skewer the musical director/show. The OSTs were such a great part of the drama

The part when XingXing pretends to be with Maizi and pushes ZWS away. Ohmaigod, I never seen ZWS so, so.... pissed off. It's like pissed off in a heartbroken way. And then at the beach where tears just streamed down his face after XingXing let loose the verbal diarrhoea on him (me crying together with all of them). I have to give it to Qu Chu Xiao, he is a freaking good actor.
I'm not sure if its Qu Chu Xiao or some stunt double that did the falling down lighthouse scene, but I have to say it was so artistic falling down (esp the side profile falling down shot).

Although on paper it looks like some unsatisfying ending (is he alive? is he dead?), having watched all through the episodes journeying with FL and ML, I actually felt contented with the ending. I was watching another time-travel drama, Blue Birthday, right after and while I won't spoil it for you here the ending, all I can say is Shining For One Thing left a deeper impact on me overall. :)

My other fav character in the show is Maizi. You will be impressed with him like me after watching.

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure you will enjoy it. I'm even at my second watching. The only downside is probably you want a partner like ZWS and guys like that probably doesn't exist in real life. Hahaha!

Okay, I just signed up a Douban account. Oh my god, I was going through all the Douban reviews there. Since I can't read Chinese, I've been using a translator app. It's like such a crazy process. Can I rate 4 stars on Douban without writing anything? I wanted my review to contribute something meaningful. I think I'm gonna draft out a short heartfelt review and get my hubby who is Chinese literate to write it for me.

Yes but since this is a high school romance, the kisses are pretty tame. It's sweet kisses. I remember a kiss on the cheek and a then a light kiss on the lips at a photobooth (shown in flashback).

Thanks for sharing the link! I actually don't mind the trend of dramas dropping all episodes at one go. I remember this happened for another drama I watched last year 'Out Of The Dream' too. I am pretty notorious for not completing dramas I started because its just hard to pick it back up after stopping for a while to wait for new episodes. I completed this drama in 2 days. It was so freaky satisfying to watch one after another of the episodes until the end. No lost momentum and totally in the zone.

I got conned by Lin Dahai in first episode. I was thinking 'Wow, what a caring brother, offered to cook noodles for his sister'

I have highest grade withdrawal symptoms after finishing this drama. I can only keep listening to the amazing OSTs and run over to the comment section to read all the comments here 5 times a day. Zhang Wansen... What can I say about him but such a lovely adorkable guy. Lin Beixing and Maizi grow so much character wise. We know a certain someone will be very proud of them.
I can't forget the Xu Zhimo's poem mentioned in the drama
'Softly I am leaving,
Just as softly as I came...'

I agree with... That damn perfume. Honestly, are there no other product placement that can masquerade as gifts! (like photography-based gifts) But it did make me slightly curious about the perfumes' actual smell... Haha.

I dropped the drama initially because I couldn't stand ML acting. But I picked it up again quite quickly as I was in the mood for time-travel storyline. Sort of gritted my teeth through ML wooden acting. But I have to say his acting got easier to watch as the episodes progressed. I actually think he might develop to be a decent actor in the future.

I totally agree! People will most likely compare it to Reset. However SFOT is deserving equally of praise.... the emotional punch it delivers.

Why did they cut the scene? It was just what my heart needed after all the angst we were put through.

My curiosity is within the first 10 mins of Ep 1. In the parallel world, after FL met ML in the rain at school steps and also ex-fiance, the next scene showed her on the bus in present time. How did she return?
