I'm going to re-post the plot because the one here makes almost no sense: Gong Yoo stars in this modern-day…
Right! It'll be very interesting to see what the two main couples are like. Have they solved the second male lead syndrome? Hopefully. we might end up with Supporting Male Syndrome lol
For those of you who don't know the historical romance story and are slightly confused on the description,…
It almost has to be a runaway show for Lee Min Ho because this is his last drama before his mandatory military service. So it's definitely supposed to generate a lot of hype, because we wont see him again for awhile .. :( But yes I'm confirming the dual time period thing, It will be a dual time period drama, which i think will be nice. I loved Lee Min Ho in Faith and I've been waiting to see him in another Time piece.
And there isn't a lot of dual time dramas, so having the masters of the dual time sub-genre direct this is reassuring!!!!

haha, yeah; I had my suspicions about that when I wrote my summary above, but I wasn't so sure about it; however judging by the new cover and the other things I have seen floating around the web, I figured the other day that It was going to be like that. I'm almost positive that its going to bounce back and forth between the original joseon era tale and the modern tale about the same thing.
This drama will probably be postponed because I have searched long and hard for the cast with not luck :( The cast should be up by now, even though It starts in December....I wish the cast would be revealed soon and hopefully it won't be postponed.
This might be a bit of a spoiler because I inserted some details about the main cast but first of all- Amazing cast, and is it just me or has there been a lot of historical dramas this year..hmm sensing a theme here, alright here you go:
-Park Seo Joon will be assuming the role of “Moo Myeong,” the legendary “dog-bird hwarang” who wants to live his life without regrets like a dog and freely like a bird. The actor is expected to portray the love for Aro (Go Ara) that blooms from the desire to protect her and a masculine side that he hasn’t shown previously.
-Park Hyung Sik will play the role of “Sam Maek Jong (King Jinheung),” a king who wants to make himself known to the world. He is a character that is very sensitive and irritable, due to his long time away from people and loneliness, but slowly becomes a king of his own right after meeting Aro. What started due to curiosity for Sam Maek Jong soon becomes a long for love from Aro.
-Although the character of “Suho (played by Minho)” is known to many as a playboy-type of figure, he’s actually a romantic guy who passionately loves one woman by himself in “Hwarang.”
-Do Ji Han’s character “Banryu” is a cold-blooded hwarang who received political education and was forced to have a desire for power since he was young. With good looks, excellent intellect, and strong competitiveness, he is anything but cold when it comes to love.
-Jo Yoon Woo will play the flower hwarang “Yeo Wool,” a mysterious yet askew character with an unexpected foul mouth.
-BTS’s V will portray “Hansung,” the maknae hwarang who is as clear and warm as the sunlight. As the actual youngest person among the six hwarang members, V is expected to express the charm and pain of youth through “Hwarang.”
-“Aro,” played by Go Ara, is born to parents of different social classes. Although her status is that of a commoner, her attitude is as confident and dignified as any noble. She is a straightforward woman who is the love interest of Moo Myeong and Sam Maek Jong.
I'm going to re-post the plot because the one here makes almost no sense: Gong Yoo stars in this modern-day fantasy series as a goblin, a protector of souls who guides people to the afterlife once they’ve passed. He doesn’t want to be immortal anymore and seeks a human bride, played by Kim Go-eun, in order to end his immortality.
The drama is about the goblin’s strange living arrangement with Lee Dong-wook an amnesiac reaper who takes souls. His love interest will be played by Yoo Inna, whose character is a beautiful, sunny woman loved by all men. While encountering hardship in her reckless life, she’ll meet the reaper and begin to change...
I'm still a bit iffy on the plot-line. Very original, but kinda confusing?
For those of you who don't know the historical romance story and are slightly confused on the description, this drama is inspired by a classic Joseon legend from Korea's first collection of unofficial historical tales, about a fisherman who captures and releases a mermaid, this drama tells the love story between the son of a noble family in Joseon era named Dam-lim (Lee Min-ho) and a mermaid named Shim Chung (Jun Ji-hyun).
And there isn't a lot of dual time dramas, so having the masters of the dual time sub-genre direct this is reassuring!!!!
