I just finished it after a 3 days binge, and I’m not really feeling it this season. It doesn’t seems to have…
Below are some of my greviences:
Fan Xian gets hurt once and almost dies and it was chalked up as an accident caused by some trivial scheming by the emperor. LOL. It's so dumb.
Jin father and daughter died but there is no revenge or any form of redemption for them. 2nd prince is too interesting and is kept around.
The imperial test arc was one of the worst, literally nothing happens and it's solved by just talking to others.
Brother goes north with money to start a business only to come back immediately. That was the plan?
Don't even get me started on solving the treasury deficit. That was the princess' plan? Jesus. And he solves it and nothing of importance other than that. She gives up and decides to go home before learning who he is.
Omg I can't even remember anything else because that's how boring it was by comparison to season 1. Bring back si li li and others. All the side characters suck or they just don't do anything in this season.
This felt like a filler season I didn't need. If they condensed the next season and this season into one maybe it could have competed.
I was actually looking forward to it finishing and it's shorter than season 1.
After so many years I can't express how disappointed I am. This is on par with the nonsense sword snow stride which is a cheap imitation attempt of joy of life with the same actor. Fuck me.
Oh god... Did it end up not being a good revenge. Why do all revenge dramas do this. Are there any good revenge…
I tried. But it was too umm I dunno weird. Just felt like the old woman helping her ruined her image. Also felt it could have been smarter and less affair focused.
😅😅 in here MDL there’re a lot lot lot of K-dramas that are overrated, there’re some k-dramas which i…
Yeah I just think of them differently. If a kdrama gets an 8.8 I think it's equal to a cdrama with 8.3.
The kdramas are so over rated on this site it's nuts. Also most kdramas are so unsatisfying after first few episodes. There are some really good ones but yeah overall their trash kdrama sometimes is rated higher than much better cdramas.
But I feel like this cdrama is overrated and I don't get why it has an 8.8 tbh. Especially with so many reviews. Maybe its cause its flashy and has a lot of action which was fun... But plot for me just isn't stellar enough.
For example Immortal Samsara has better cohesion but is rated lower. Sort of different genres cause one is very romance focused but I defs think I enjoyed samsara more. But I also think it was only a 8.3-8.4 rating which it currently has.
Was I the only one who found a lot Of this dragged. Some epic moments but otherwise it was quite boring past episode 20.
Liked that the female lead was non typical, so that was nice. But romance was very minor and felt forced for all pairs.
Also think they really underplayed wuxin, wujie and xioa se brotherhood. Like not enough screen time dedicated to it. Wish they spent more if the story with them together.
The main villain got to almost comical levels of "this is my evil plan nothing can go wrong", only to have some half hearted redemption right at the end. LOL. Honestly the last 10 episodes ruined this for me.
someone pls give motivation to keep watching this loli am tempted to put it on-hold for a while because i was…
This is one of the most perfectly tied in knot neatly ending for any drama I've watched. The premise of her revenge is always central to everything. Even if it seems at first not to be.
Story wise I've yet to find anything better other than Empresses in the Palace and a Joyful Life which I'd say is on par in terms of enjoyment. It's got lots of episodes but it's very well worth it.
The last 10 or so episodes were a confusing mess. The first 40-44 episodes were nicely paced, slow burn, nice story etc.
But the end... Was just a confusing mess like they needed to drag it out to a certain number of chapters. It's a pity. Otherwise I'd have rated this drama as high as Story of Minglan or Yanxi Palace.
Am I the only one who finds this story so bland. The only redeeming quality is I actually am amazed at the actresses playing the FL.
But the cases are so bland. The romance is even more bland. I'm giving up having reached the end of ep 7. I'm not even interested in how the case resolves itself.
I think the problem with this drama is it wanted to do 3 things and did none of them really well.
1) cliche romance - guy falls in love for no apparent reason (saw her in a wedding dress???) , girl falls in love cause limited choices??? Dunno. There is no tension or sparks here. If you want to focus on romance just do it well, even if cliche, make some tension.
2) the law - if they picked super interesting cases and had some tension in the episodic nature of the show, it would have been great. If they jsut focused on the law, removed the romance or downplayed it a lot and also removed/reduced the family drama of lost mother it would be infinitely better. I'd love to see a badass lawyer winning cases despite her seemingly insurmountable disadvantages.
3) the focus on the autism. I think the story is mainly about this, but they downplay the serverity of what real autism and issues it would have, to make her a badass lawyer to some extend and to focus on romance. I feel no tension in any situation she's in due to her autism. It's more like taking a fish and slapping you in the face with the struggles she has, instead of a subtle but profound look into how autism is affecting her life.
Anyway overall, very over rated. I wish they focused on one of the 3 above because the FL, who is by far the best character (every other character is bland 2d cut out), would have killed it in any scenario. They did her a disservice.
I think kdramas are being skewed too much to positive side. Maybe a lot of fake reviews happening.

Nothing even happened if you really think about it. It's literally chess pieces all moving about the board but not a single casualty.
Fan xian seems nerfed as well, he's not smart, he's just moving to others whims and needs constant help.

Edit: this also feels very overrated at 8.8...
I'd have liked it better without the first ep and half in the future.
Tbh it's also my fault, I don't like campus romance, it feels trite and childish. I don't think I've ever watched and liked a campus romance show.
How many episodes? I don't really care for the flashback. I wish shows wouldn't do this...

They should focus more on the law with interesting cases, instead of whatever the hell they are picking as cases...
