I think cdramas doesn't have any actresses in 40s who play main role.
There are a few. Tiffany Tang & Ma Yi Li are popular actresses who have starred in many cdramas, most notably in “Blossoms Shanghai” which won many awards last year. Ma Yi Li had a lead role in the hit cdrama “To The Wonder” this year. Zhang Zi Yi is mainly a film actress, but she has a lead role in “The Rebel Princess” as well.
