Although this got its inspiration in You From Another Star and Kim Tae Hwan creepily reminds me of Kim Soo Hyun (are they really not siblings?) I consider the stories and interactions to be quite different, and the show is deserving of its own name. What makes this story great is the characters, the witty banter, and the comedy. The characters are admittedly modeled after the original ones, with the female protagonist as a big-mouthed actress and the male protagonist as a cool non-human, but they're peppered with fun and cuteness, and chemistry is on point. What earns my respect is the script. Most dramas these days contain the same boring dialogue, so it's so refreshing to find one that's so enlightening. Also, I don't know how many times I've laughed out loud; both of them are absolutely hilarious and the way they react to situations makes me double over with tears. The overall tone is lighter than You From Another Star and the story's more slice of life, which suits the mood. It's also got more of a scientific backdrop(genes, etc) than aliens from other planets, which is fine, too. However, I have a huge bone to pick with the plot, which is...sorta ridiculous. There are some aspects that are intriguing and great, but then you get those situations where the plot relies too much on chance, or is unrealistic (small example: you're NOT allowed food in a lab. Yet they drink wine in there.) These details really make me roll my eyes. This is another small detail but it does sometimes bug me when Kim Tae Hwan's mouth and his voice aren't in sync. I get that Chinese is hard when you're Korean, but sometimes it's a little too obvious. Or maybe it's the voice dubber's fault. Well, hey, his acting is on par and he's pretty good for a newbie so I'm able to put up with it. Anyway, the character interactions more than make up for these discrepancies, so I give this a full rewatch value. I could see them bicker all day, and several minutes would pass by in an hour. For that alone, this drama's earned itself a permanent spot in my book.
