The main leads I really liked, they actually had layers.
However I could have done without the secondary characters:
The chairwoman was Satan for 40 episodes and then suddenly calmed down? Really? The step sister was a vindictive, jealous cow and suffered absolutely no repercussions for her actions. The second male lead was a spineless moron The mother was pretty awful too
Okay - so watching this after watching loads of post 2019 dramas makes me so pleased about the government guidelines on episode quantity.
Now we don’t have to put up with series that show you ten minutes of flashbacks in every episode. My fingers are getting repetitive strain injury from fast-forwarding so much!
I’m surprised I liked it so much as in the early stages I wasn’t sure I would, however I genuinely loved it.
This was very well written, nicely shot (more creative lighting than the usual super-brightness of RomCom Cdramas). Both leads acted beautifully, especially the female lead (who is original and charming - you really want to root for her)
The second leads are nice, although their middle stage story goes on a bit too long.
There are tropes (but seriously, we watch Cdramas so we must rather like tropes) but mostly they just float around, slightly out of view.
Honestly, watch it, you shouldn’t regret it.
NB: this mini review was brought to you in association with OREOS... lol
- no clear narrative - poor script - too many characters with no apparent purpose - the addition of inexplicable elements 2/3rds into the show - late addition plots that seemed to have come out of a different show (a bit like Rachel’s Dessert this show is half an English trifle/half a shepherds pie)
I think I may be lucky in the UK, but there are absolutely loads of Korean dramas and films on Netflix here. Its such a brilliant platform and it appears to get some of the best quality dramas (CLOY, IOTNBO etc)... its also much better at subbing than some of the other streaming platforms ;)

Discussing plot, character, writing, directing is relevant. Describing actors as ‘not pretty enough etc’ really isn’t constructive.
But I don't think enough is said about how good the incidental BGM is (its as good as Secret Love Affair which makes me ugly cry)
Hopefully it will have some romance with the spooks! It’s pretty likely - this IS Kdrama :)

Tres Incroyable!
(Teeny tiny point: Thatcher has not been the only female PM, Teresa May was too)
